10/25/18– Derrick Jay Taylor
Derrick Taylor
Bethel Springs, TN: Derrick Jay Taylor, age 51, died at his home Sunday afternoon October 21, 2018 as the result of an ATV accident.
Mr. Taylor was born and reared in Coffee County, TN, the son of Charles William Taylor and the late Mary Wanda Wright Taylor. He graduated from Middle Tennessee Christian School at Murfreesboro in 1985 and from Freed-Hardeman University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Communications. He earned a Master of Education from Freed-Hardeman in 1998.
He married Sonya Rushing in 1989 and they made their home at Bethel Springs. He taught school at Beech Bluff for fifteen years and was currently teaching fourth grade math at Rose Hill K-8 in the Jackson-Madison County School System where he was also the girls’ volleyball coach. He was a self-taught musician, using his musical abilities and his love for music in his innovative teaching style. He loved fishing and camping. He was a member of the Adamsville Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife Sonya Rushing Taylor, a son Zane William Taylor and a daughter Ella Grace Taylor all of Bethel Springs, his father and step-mother Charles and Martha Corlew Taylor of Manchester a sister Karen Tennant of Dyersburg, and two step-brothers Steve Corlew of Lexington and Marc Corlew of Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Wanda Wright Taylor and a step-sister Carol Corlew Boyd.
Memorial services will be 6:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue with Van Vansandt officiating. The family will receive friends at Shackelford Crook Avenue from 3:00 PM until 6:00 pm Thursday.
10/24/18–John W Webb
John W Webb of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at
Tennova Harton Hospital at the age of 69 years. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home with burial to follow at Concord Cemetery. Visitation with
the family will be Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 6 – 8 PM.
A native of the Lewisburg, he was the son of the late D E and Lula
Wingfield Webb. He was a 1967 graduate of Tullahoma High School. He was a
member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church where he served as the
chairman of the food bank and an usher. He had the “Gift of Gab” and
enjoyed visiting and helping people. He was always doing things to help
out people and even made sure his special friend, Charlie made it to his
exercise class for three years. He also loved animals and sports and was an
avid UT football fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Linda and
Mary Webb.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Joan Webb of Tullahoma; sons, John Webb
Jr. and his wife, Gretel of Cincinnati and Josh Webb of Tullahoma; brother,
Mike Way and his wife, Rita of Winchester; sister, Marcella Webb of
Tullahoma; grandchildren, Eden Ryleigh Webb and Dylan Ivy Webb;
sister-in-law, Roxanne Holloway and her husband, Gerald of Tullahoma;
nieces, Katy Currence and her husband, Chris of Manchester, Kristen Wouree
of Winchester; Whitney Holloway of Winchester and Christy Webb of Tullahoma
and great niece and nephew, Alexandria Currence and Brantley Holloway.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his honor
to Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, 2101 E Lincoln Street,
Tullahoma, TN 37388 or the Tullahoma Animal Shelter, 942 Maplewood Ave,

10/21/18 — Gayla Clouse Powell
Funeral services for Mrs. Gayla Clouse Powell, age 73, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Gayla passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at St. Thomas – Midtown in Nashville, TN.
Gayla was born in Coffee County, TN to the late William and Odolene Clouse. Before she retired she was an educator for Coffee County Schools for 30 years. Gayla was a member of Red Hill Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Gayla is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Prater Powell; one daughter, Jennifer Powell Whittington (Richard); two grandsons, Ben and Nathan Whittington.

10/21/18–Nina Elaine Jones Colyar
Nina Elaine Jones Colyar of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday,
October 18, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Graveside Services are scheduled
on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 1 PM at Oakwood Cemetery.
A native of the Flowertown Community of Coffee County, she was the daughter
of the late Claude and Ola Steed Jones. She was a very active member of
West End Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and being with her
family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard
Owens Colyar; son, Daniel Owens Colyar; brothers, John Daniel Jones, Willie
Pruit Jones, Willis Samuel Jones, Claude Newton Jones Jr, Cleadus Leighton
Jones and Curby Bond Jones and sisters, Sarah Molene Jones Gwynn and Irma
Christene Jones.
She is survived by daughter, Connie Estep of Tullahoma; grandchildren,
Brian (Sarah), Bryson and Briley Colyar, all of Tullahoma, Andrea Beckham
(Brandon) of Estill Springs and Claire Estep of Nashville and great
grandchildren, Clayton, Cannon, Lyric and Adalynn.

10/19/18–James Robert Barlow
James Robert Barlow, passed this life on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at
Unity Medical Center in Manchester at the age of 35. A Celebration of Life
Gathering will be held from 10 AM – 8 PM on Friday, October 19, 2018 at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
A native of Gainesville, GA, he was the son of James C and Wanda Fletcher
Barlow of Manchester. He was a graduate of Coffee County High School and
enjoyed cutting wood with his father, fishing, riding four wheelers and
driving big four wheel drive mud slider trucks. He was a “Big Clown” and
enjoyed making people laugh and aggravating his family.
James was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Fannie
Ruth Fletcher; paternal grandmother, Mary Porter and brother, Gary Fletcher.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Lisa Watson of
Manchester; sisters, Shannon Fox and her husband, Shawn of Bradyville and
Mary Spence of Manchester; nieces, Alissa Lemons, Abby Spence and Caren

Thomas Duncan Saunders of Wartrace, passed this life on Sunday, October 14,
2018, at his residence at the age of 53. No services are scheduled.
A native of St. Albeans, NY, he was the son of Bill and Jenny Kremke of
Lincoln, NE. A U S Army veteran, he enjoyed fishing, building things and
making dream catchers.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sherry Saunders of

Funeral services for Mr. Phillip Wilson Claybourn, age 76, of Morrison,
TN, will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at
Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marvin Davenport and Bro. Eric
Elwell officiating. Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on
Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Claybourn passed away on
Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN.
Phillip was born in Warren County, TN, the son of the late Charles Wilson
Claybourn and Nora Ann Hennessee Claybourn. He was self-employed in the
construction industry and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Phillip enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and growing watermelons,
which he loved to give away. He also loved spending time with his
family. Phillip was a member of the Summitville Fire Department for 17
years.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was also preceded in death by one
son, Phillip Jason Claybourn; and one brother, Charles Franklin
Claybourn. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Faye
Cargile Claybourn; one daughter, Brenda (Terry) Heilmann; one sister,
Carolyn (Melvin) Keith; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Kyler, and Ashley
Heilmann.

at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga at the age of 59. Funeral services are

receive friends beginning at 12 PM
A native of Nashville, he was the son of the late Charles William Anderson
and Myra Tucker Alea of Florida. He was a U S Air Force veteran and a
member of the First United Methodist Church of Tullahoma. He enjoyed
riding motorcycles, listening to music and eating a good meal. His
favorite thing was being with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by wife, Carla Anderson of
Normandy; daughter, Rachel Anderson of Chattanooga; brother, Charles
Stephen Anderson and his wife, Natalia of Harrisburg, PA; sister, Patsy
Watkins and her husband, Bill of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nephews, Jason Weakley
of Nashville, James Anderson of Boston, MA and Bobby Anderson of
Harrisburg, PA; niece, Jennifer Braswell and her husband, Mark of Nashville
and great nieces, Vivian and Leora Braswell.

Robert R. Tracey
Robert R Tracey of Winchester, passed this life on Friday, October 12, 2018
at his residence at the age of 74. No services are scheduled.
A native of Zanesville, OH, he was the son of the late William Pearl and
Opal Hufford Tracey. He began working in the meat department at Big Bear
Stores in Ohio when he was sixteen years old. He eventually became the
department manager and worked with Big Bear Stores for fifty-four years.
After
retiring in 2001, he and his wife, Sue relocated to Winchester where he
started working for the United Grocery Store in Decherd. He again retired
in 2015. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, David Tracey
and six brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Tracey of Winchester; sons, Bobby Tracey of
Winchester and John Lycans and his wife, Sabrina of Canal Winchester, OH;
grandchildren, Devon Tracey, Katrina Tracey and her husband, Will Darley,
Amanda Tracey and Zachary Lycans; daughter-in-law, Alicia Tracey of
Columbus, OH; niece, Debbie Johnson and her husband, Robert of Tullahoma;
sisters-in-law, Linda Sims of Tullahoma and Eileen Bentley of Zanesville,
OH; brother-in-law, Mike Sims and his wife, Katie of Tullahoma; many nieces
and nephews in Ohio and Tennessee and lifelong friends, Raymond and Diana
Snyder of Estill Springs, Mike Snyder of Estill Springs, Teresa White of
