Tami Lala Powers — 11/23/18
Mrs. Tami Lala Powers, 49, passed away Monday
November 19, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was
born in Winchester, Tennessee on October 20, 1969 to Phillip Bennett and
Judy Goodman Bennett who preceded her in death along with her brother,
Trevor Bennett.
She was a newspaper delivery driver for the Chattanooga Times-Free Press.
She is survived by her son, Trent Powers of Tullahoma; daughter, Tabitha
and her husband Taylor Haley of Pineville, Kentucky; brothers, Travis
Bennett, Aaron Bennett and Tray Rhoton; sister, Rachel Buchanan;
grandchildren, Keeli Powers, Braxton Griffin, Harper Dodson and Finnian
Coffman.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday in the Central Funeral Home chapel
with Minister Taylor Haley officiating with burial to follow in the Winton

11/13/18–Jo Anna McClanahan
Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Anna McClanahan will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 23, 2018, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Bryan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. McClanahan passed away suddenly on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Bailey Manor in Manchester, TN.
Jo Anna was born in Coffee County, TN, to the late Elgie and Maymie Spears. She was a bookkeeper before retirement and a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Jo Anna loved being outside and working in her yard. She was a southern bell with a strong sense of propriety and she was wonderfully generous. Jo Anna was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Jo Anna is also preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 30 years, Dean McClanahan and one sister, Naomi Love. She is survived by her son, Jason (Shelley) McClanahan, one step-son, David; two step-daughters, Janet and Judy; one brother, Jimmy Spears; three sisters, Inez Smith, Charlene Miller, and Barbara Barton; one grandson, Tristan McClanahan.

11/20/18–Joseph William “Joe” Darrah
Joseph William “Joe” Darrah age 83 of Smithville, passed away Friday morning, November 16, 2018 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville. He was born October 29, 1935 in Marietta, Ohio to his parents, the late George William and Geneva Lutman Dye Darrah. Mr. Joe worked in personnel and labor relations and also as quality control at Firestone and retired from Federal Mogul Automotive. He was a faithful member of the Smithville Church of Christ. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Carol Darrah of Smithville; 5 children, Elaine (Tom) Marcrom of Manchester, Elizabeth (Darryl) Boyette of Homestead, FL, Caroline Darrah of Cookeville, Ed (Joy) Darrah of Des Moines, IA and Susan Darrah of Cookeville; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Dr. David (Marsha) Darrah of Smithville and several nieces and nephews. The family has honored Mr. Joe’s request to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Smithville Church of Christ with Family and Friends officiating. In addition to flowers, the family ask donations to be made to the Hope for Haiti’s Children a ministry of the Church of Christ or to the Smithville Church of Christ Work Camp ministry, in memory of Joe. Visitation with the Darrah family will be on Tuesday from 4:PM until 6:PM at the Smithville Church of Christ. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
11/21/18 — Josephine Dorothy Smoyak
Mrs. Josephine Dorothy Smoyak, 94, passed away,
Sunday November 18, 2018 at a Tullahoma, Tennessee nursing home. She was
born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 8, 1924 to William McCann and
Mary Lawler McCann who preceded her in death along with her husband, John
Smoyak Sr.; sister, Mary Rudisill; brother, William McCann; grandsons,
Rusty and Christian Carden; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Smoyak.
Josephine was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a retired
regional manager for Kmart. She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her sons, John Smoyak Jr and his wife, Brenda Kay of
Manchester and James William Smoyak and his wife Julie of Seattle,
Washington; grandchildren, Lynda & Cantrell Carden, Donna and Bob Jr.
Trail, Jenn Smoyak; great grandchildren, Viktor and Christina Carden,
Wesley and Haley Trail; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Central Funeral Home
chapel with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation:

11/20/18 — Mildred Hill Sherrill
Mrs. Mildred Hill Sherrill, 96, entered into
Heaven
Sunday November 18, 2018 at the hospital in Winchester, Tennessee. She
was born in Alto, Tennessee on November 9, 1922 to Elgin Berry Hill and
Docie Dooley Hill who preceded her in death along with her husband of 38
years, Albert Peyton Sherrill; brother, Elgin B. Hill Jr.; sisters, Coleen
Hill, Willie Pearson, Marilyn Floyd, Gaynelle Hill and an infant sister.
Mildred was a devout Christian attending church with her children until her
health declined. She was a school teacher beginning her career in a one
room school house at Rutledge Hill and ultimately retiring from Hillsboro
Elementary School. During World War II she welded fuel tanks for the war
effort. Mildred enjoyed cooking for her family, and serving her homemade
apple pie to her adoring grandchildren. She loved painting, sewing, jewelry
making, cross stitching, quilting and gardening.
She is survived by her son and wife, Philip and Barbara Sherrill,
Hillsboro; daughter and husband, Helen and Monte Stewart, Winchester;
sister, Ruth Hill Weston and husband Phil, Micco, Florida; grandchildren,
Matthew Rose and fiancé Audrey Welch, Amanda Rose, Amy Rose, Melissa and
husband Jonathan Jones and Stephen and wife Anna Sherrill; along with
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Central Funeral Home chapel
with Ministers Bob Hopkins and Anna Brockman officiating with special music
by her daughter. Burial will be in the Rutledge Hill Community
Cemetery. Visitation:

11/23/18 — Berle Edward Myatt
Berle Edward Myatt of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, November 16,
2018 at his residence at the age of 91 years. Services are scheduled at 1
PM on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with
burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive
friends from 11 AM until 1 PM.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cecil and Margaret
Myatt. He was a WW II Army veteran and a member of Rutledge Falls Baptist
Church. He was very active in his church and always enjoyed the ministry
work at the Girls School. He retired from AEDC and enjoyed playing golf,
horseshoes and croquet. He also enjoyed camping and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Gerald
and Calvin Myatt and grandson, Christopher Myatt.
Mr. Myatt is survived by his wife of 70 ½ years, Donna Myatt of Tullahoma;
son, Jeffrey Myatt and his wife, Beverly of Mount Dora, FL; daughters,
Linda Collier and her husband, Thad of Waverly, TN and Marilyn Cheatham and
her husband, Dan of Hampton Cove, AL; ten grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.

11/18/18 — Samuel Arden Boyd
A celebration of life for Mr. Samuel Arden Boyd, age 48, of Manchester,
TN will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at
Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Benny Benjamin officiating. The family
will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the
funeral home. Mr. Boyd passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 14,
2018, at his residence in Manchester, TN.
Samuel was born in Coffee County, TN to Pat Vanattia and the late Hank
Boyd. He was an LPN for over 20 years. Samuel loved being involved in
his son’s sports, and he coached his ball teams for 9 years. He loved
his friends and collected knives and unique flashlights. Samuel was a
loving son, husband, and father.
Samuel is preceded in death by his father, Hank Boyd. He is survived by
his loving wife, Brandy Boyd; mother, Pat Vanattia; step-mother, Sherry
Boyd; three sons, Charlie, Lucas, and Jaxon Boyd; one sister, Julie
Bouckenooghe.

11/19/18 — Bobby Joe Warren
Bobby Joe Warren of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, November 15,
2018 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro at the age of 58 years. Funeral
Services are scheduled on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 12 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 5-8 PM.
A native of Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Oddis Bartlett and Emma
Gladys Woods Warren. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel and dove hunting,
antique shopping, gun collecting and raising chickens. He also loved
searching for treasures at flea markets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Jamison Keith;
brother, Danny Warren and sisters, Nancy Bates and Linda Taylor.
Mr. Warren is survived by sons, Kevin Warren of Shelbyville and Bobby
Warren II and his wife, Ashley of Bell Buckle; daughter, Jessica Scaruffi
and her husband, Sean of Crestview, FL; brothers, Jimmy Warren and his
wife, Brenda of Tullahoma and David Warren and his wife, Daisy of the Flat
Creek Community; sisters, Judy Cooper and her husband, Jimmy and Joyce
Lewis and her husband, Billy, both of the New Hermon Community and Betty
Walker and her husband, John of Cornersville; sister-in-law, Evelyn Warren
of the New Hermon Community and grandson, Tanner Joe Warren.

11/17/18–Boyd Aylor
On November 5, 2018, Mr. Boyd Aylor, age 90 of Tullahoma, TN entered into rest at The Waters of Shelbyville. He was the only child of the late Clyde and Dessie Aylor, of Pelham, TN.
Mr. Aylor served in the United States Navy during World War II, spending most of his time on a submarine. After his service, he worked at Arnold Engineering and Development Center for 38 years as Iron Worker. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed his retirement with his projects.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Cassie Aylor. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lela Aylor; cousin, Betty Patton of Tullahoma; brother-in-law, Ronald (Sandra) Patterson of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Nancy Howell of Chattanooga; special niece, Donna (Bill) Thomas of Ring Gold, GA; special cousins, Theresa (Jerry) Compton of Murfreesboro and many nieces and nephews. Also, Snowball, his loving cat that visited him in the nursing home often.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Watson-North Memorial Park in Winchester, TN with Billy Meeks officiating.

Christina Marie Benge
Christina Marie Benge, of Cowan, passed this life on Tuesday, November 13,
2018 at her residence at the age of 59 years. No services are scheduled.
A native of Hillsdale, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Virgil
and Mary Frances Cook Cummins. After retiring, she and her husband, Thomas
Benge, relocated from Michigan to Tennessee. She enjoyed traveling and
going shopping. She always loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating her
home for the seasons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William
Lee Cummins.
Mrs. Benge is survived by her husband, Thomas Benge of Cowan; daughter,
Loretta Rubly and her husband, Randy of MI; brothers, John Michael Cummins
and his wife, Julie of MI and Charles Leroy Cummins and his wife, Kathy of
TX; sisters, Susan Renee Wike of MI and Elaine May Irvine and her husband,
John of MI; sister-in-law, Robin Cummins of MI and four grandchildren.
