12/16/18 — Ashlynn M. Vandergriff
Ashlynn M Vandergriff of Shelbyville passed this life on Thursday, November
29, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare-Shelbyville at the age of 16. Memorial
Services will be held Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 3 PM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1 PM.
A native of Bedford County, she was the daughter of Gary Vandergriff of
Shelbyville and the late Helen Brand Vandergriff. She was a student at
Shelbyville Central High School and enjoyed doing makeup and hair, art and
listening to music.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two brothers, Bobby Ray
Douglas Vandergriff and Jonathan Jay Vandergriff, both of Shelbyville.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in
her honor to Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

12/2/18 — Ruth Banks Morton
Mrs. Ruth Banks Morton, 87, passed away Thursday
November 29, 2018 at her home with her family at her bedside. She was born
in Manchester, Tennessee on November 23, 1931 to Ben Lomand and Viola
Gammons Banks who preceded her in death along with her husband, Shofner Morton, sister, Virginia
Skuya; brothers, Lee and Edward Banks.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her son, James Morton, Manchester; daughters, Donna and
her husband Billy Giles and Nancy and her husband Terry Walker all of
Manchester; grandchildren, Jason and William Morton, Benjamin Walker, Roger
and Adrian Anderson, Brenda Glaviano and Karen Hook; 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with
Minister Jerry Pullum officiating with burial to follow in the Farrar Hill
Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday at Central Funeral Home,

12/2/18 — Bobbie Faye Pressley
Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Faye Pressley, age 87, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Cathey officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Pressley passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Select Medical in Nashville, TN.
Bobbie was born in Athens, TN, the daughter of the late Creed Lawrence Davis and Evelyn Eva Dye Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Christian Friendship Church, where she enjoyed gospel music and her strong faith. Bobbie loved playing games and cooking for her family, especially for the holidays. She loved being with her family, who meant the world to her. Bobbie was so generous and always wanted to make sure people had what they needed.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Pressley; one daughter, Janice Marlene Castillo; and one brother, Granville Davis. She is survived by six sons, Charles (Diane) Pressley, Lawrence “Larry” (Daphne) Pressley, James “Marlen” (Yvonne) Pressley, Michael (Patricia) Pressley, Robert (Sandra) Pressley; and Mitchell (Sherry) Pressley; two daughters, Edna (Roy) Smith and Darlene (Mike) Petschauer; 38 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren; and special friends, Ray and Vickie Cathey, and Robert and Vickie McCart.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of shoes, jackets, etc. to the Family Resource Center, because she loved children.

12/8/18 — Warren Eugene White
Warren Eugene White of Tullahoma passed this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Morning Pointe of Tullahoma at the age of 87 years. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Arnold Cemetery near Swifton, Arkansas. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church of Tullahoma on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 2 pm CST, led by the Reverend Tom Murdock. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm.
Mr. White was the son of the late James Earl and Ora Prather White. He was born in Waukesha, WI and grew up in Dallas, TX. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Texas A & M University where he earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. After graduation he and Helen Baker White, the love of his life, moved to Tullahoma and he took an engineering position at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) in Tullahoma. He worked at the Propulsion Wind Tunnel at AEDC for 34 years. After retirement, he became a Tullahoma school crossing guard for ten years. Many Tullahoma residents remember him at the intersection of Kings Lane and Country Club Drive.
Mr. White was an active member of First Christian Church, Tullahoma, volunteering with the church maintenance SWATT team and participating in the sharing group. He was a pilot and artist whose work was shown at the Tullahoma Art Center. He also served as past president of the Tullahoma Kiwanis Club and was active in other community service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jim, Harold, Boyd and Roger White and sister, Lucille Smith.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Baker White of Tullahoma; son, Jim White and his wife, Carol, of Nashville; daughter, Margaret McMullan and her husband, Alan, of Auburn, AL; sister, Margaret White of Bedford, TX and five grandchildren, Betsy White Costley and her husband, Mitch, of Atlanta; James Scott White of Oxford, OH; Scott Jordan and his wife, Jessie, of Atlanta; Kyle Jordan of Auburn, AL and Meredith Jordan of Cullman, AL.

12/2/18–Billie Carolyn Hasty
Billie Carolyn Hasty of Lynchburg passed this life on Tuesday, November
27th, 2018 at the age of 75. Mrs. Hasty was born in Lynchburg to the late
Roy (Spider) and Gladys Pierce Grammer. During her lifetime Mrs. Hasty
ran Anderson St. BP with her husband Jimmy for nearly 50 years, and she
enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, playing the piano, and riding
motorcycles with Jimmy. She was also a member of Center Grove Baptist
Church. Most of all though, she was a loving wife, mother, and Granny. In
addition to her husband, Mrs. Hasty is survived by one son, Keith Hasty
and his wife Kathy of Tullahoma; one sister, Nancy McGee of Flat Creek;
two grandchildren, Lauren Hasty and her fiance’ Ben Fults, and Matthew
Hasty; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation for Mrs.
Hasty will be held on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home
from 12:00-2:00pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00pm in
the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Jason Ramsey officiating.
Burial will follow at the Lynchburg City Cemetery.

12/1/18–Bobbie Jean Carden
Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Jean Carden, age 86 of Manchester, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Tommy Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Farrar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Carden passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at McArthur Manor.
Mrs. Carden was born on July 14, 1932 to the late Thurman and Pearl Crosslin and was the youngest of 8 siblings. She was a member of Noah Church of Christ. Bobbie was a 3rd grade teacher for 42 years at New Union Elementary School. She was co-owner with her husband and family of Garner’s Furniture and Appliance Store in Manchester since 1960. Mrs. Carden loved to paint, sew, and could always be found at a Coffee County Schools sporting events. Most of all, she loved spending time with her son, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Winfred “Wimpy” Carden. Survived by her son, Lloyd Carden; grandchildren, Abby Lynch (Joel), Cassie Patton (Tyler); great-grandchildren, August Lynch and Granger Patton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ms. Leslie Mai Whittemore, age 85, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Butler and Rev. Barry Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Ms. Whittemore passed away suddenly on Monday, November 26, 2018, in Nashville, TN.
Leslie was born in Aberdeen, WA, to the late Charles and Minnie Plumb. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Summitville United Methodist Church for many years. Before retiring from Batesville in 1996 after 25 years, Leslie worked at Pajama Factory for 12 years, and Overall Factory for 5 years. She was a member of the Homemakers Club, volunteered helping with the visually impaired, and she enjoyed helping others, crafts, crocheting, and travelling. Leslie’s most favorite past time however was spending time with her family and being able to help raise her two great-grandsons. To Leslie family always came first, and she would do anything for them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
In addition to her parents, Leslie is also preceded in death by one grandson, Derek Adams; two brothers, Richard and Robert Brewer; five sisters, Kathryn Morrow, Charlotte Page, Ann Matsen, Alice Kellogg, and Mary Metcalf. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry (Richard) Swann and Terry (Donald) Adams; one brother, Charles (Joyce) Plumb; one grandson, Chris (Heather) Swann; two great-grandchildren, Will and Jordan Swann; several nieces and nephews in Tennessee, Kentucky, Washington State, California, and Oregon.

Nadine Fay Vaughan
Nadine Fay Vaughan, age 74, of Manchester, TN, passed this life on
Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at her residence. No services are
scheduled at this time.
Nadine was born in Beechgrove, TN, the daughter of the late Bennett and
Bertha Simmons Driver. She was a homemaker and loved gardening with her
“green thumb,” her cats, and Christmas.
In addition to her parents, Nadine was also preceded in death by her
husband, Kenneth Mims; two brothers, Gale and Tommy Driver; and two
sisters, Marie Nippers and Juanita Blackburn. She is survived by three
sons, Everett, Terry, and Tim Gibson; one daughter, Betty Jean Yarbrough;
four brothers, Huey, Bill, Gary, and Dale Driver; six grandchildren; and
four great grandchildren.

Mrs. Evelyn Keith Barton, 88, of Normandy, TN
passed away November 26, 2018 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. She
was born in Winchester, TN on September 11, 1930 to John Keith and Daisy
Roberson Keith who preceded her in death, along with her husband, Arthur
“Buck” Barton.
Evelyn worked at AEDC and later as bookkeeper for Barton Implement in
Manchester, TN. She was a member of the Normandy United Methodist
Church.
She is survived by daughter Barbara Barton of Murfreesboro, TN; son
Richard and his wife Mary Lee of Normandy, TN; son Bryan Keith Barton and
wife Mary Jane of Normandy, TN; grandchildren, Jill Barton, Kristen
(Joey) Coriano, Leslie (Luke) Aaron, Greg (Monica) Barton, Beth (Eric)
Grosch, Will Barton, Carrie Barton, Audrey Barton; and 4 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel
with Pastor Laurie Raulston officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany
Cemetery in Normandy, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday November 28, 2018

11/30/18–Sandra Lee “Sandi” Conley
Conley, Sandra Lee “Sandi”,of Lynchburg, passed this life on
Sunday, November 25th, 2018 at her home at the age of 56. Sandi was born
in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Oral Dunlap and Marie Boone Frye who
survives. She worked as an Engineering Tec Writer at TE Connectivity and
was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to her
father, Sandi was preceded in death by her step-father, Howard Frye. She
is survived by her husband, Otis Conley of Lynchburg; three children,
Celia Cassara Brooke Conley of Savannah, Georgia, Nicholas Tyler Chase
Conley of Tullahoma, and Michael Alexander Conley and his wife Coraleigh
of Douglas, Georgia; her mother, Marie Frye of Washington, Missouri; and
her brothers and sisters, Barb, Rick, Elaine, Carol, Diane, Joyce and
Jim. A memorial service to celebrate Sandi’s life will be held on Friday,
November 30th, 2018 at 6:00pm at First Baptist Church in Tullahoma with
Dr. Kevin Ivy officiating.
