12/28/18 — Melva “Jean” Hawks
*Hawks, Melva “Jean” **(nee Haley) *of High Ridge, Missouri, was born
January 13, 1934 in Morrison, Tennessee to *Fred *and *Cora* (nee West)
Haley and entered into rest Thursday, December 20, 2018 in High Ridge,
Missouri at the age of 84 years.
She is preceded in death by, her parents, her husband *Everit *Clayton
Hawks, one child *Carolyn *Joan Lucas, one great-grandchild *Layla
*McCracken
and one brother *Bob *Haley.
She is survived by,
one (1) child, *Pat *(Ron) McCracken, of High Ridge, Missouri,
one (1) grandchild, *Courtney *McCracken,
one (1) sister, *Shirley *Coll of Manchester, Tennessee,
and many other relatives, and friends.
Melva loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching
country music shows, cooking and baking. She will be fondly remembered and
dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation Sunday, December 23, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at

Connie Sue Seitz
Mrs. Connie Sue Seitz, age 58, of Manchester, TN, passed from this life
on December 20, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Connie chose to donate her body to science and no services are planned.
Connie was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late T.J. and Myrtle
Gillespie Henson. She was a homemaker, loved her cats, and enjoyed
watching scary movies.
In addition to her parents, Connie was also preceded in death by one
sister, Anna Gene Hatmaker. She is survived by her loving husband, James
Seitz; one son, Robert Taylor; three daughters, La’ticia Taylor, Desiree
Whitt, and Brandi (Alex) Mitten; one brother, Walter (Tula) Henson; one
sister, Josephine (James) Wilson; and twelve grandchildren.

12/29/18 — Billy Wayne Tankersley
Billy Wayne Tankersley of Normandy, passed this life on Thursday, December
20, 2018 at his residence at the age of 65 years. Memorial Services will be
conducted on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM.
A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Wanda
Pierce Tankersley. He worked in the shipping department at Batesville
Casket for over 38 years. Mr. Tankersley enjoyed playing pool and loved to
joke and tease everyone. He also enjoyed going to yard sales and hunting
for bargains. He was an avid fan of old TV shows, including the Andy
Griffith Show, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Three Stooges and The Dukes of Hazard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Melvin
Tankersley and sister, Robbie Amos.
Mr. Tankersley is survived by his wife, Joan Tankersley of Normandy; sons,
Phillip Tankersley and his wife, Amanda and Timothy Tankersley and his
wife, Chasity, both of Normandy; daughter, Rebecca Hunter and her husband,
Anthony of Palmyra, TN; brother, Stanley Tankersley and his wife, Pam of
Estill Springs; sisters, Judy Luttrell and her husband, Steve of Tullahoma,
Jackie Goodwin of Lynchburg, Betty Farris and her husband, John of Estill
Springs and Barbara Dorsett and her husband, Harold of Lynchburg; eleven
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice
Compassus for their loving help and support.

12/22/18 — Phyllis Ann Wells
Phyllis Ann Wells, age 59, of Tullahoma passed this life on Thursday,
December 20, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. Funeral services will
be conducted Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1 PM in the chapel of
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hurricane Cemetery
in Moore County. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM.
A native of Sewanee, TN, she was the daughter of the late Orb and Mildred
Gass. Her young life was spent in Harvey, IL until moving back to middle
Tennessee. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School and
University of Tennessee where she received a degree in accounting. She
worked as a police officer in Estill Springs, the city recorder in Cowan,
managed the Lakewood Golf and Country Club in Tullahoma and then worked for
Jack Daniel’s in Lynchburg. She attended Bethany Baptist Church in
Shelbyville. She loved cats and enjoyed crocheting and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray
Wells and brother, Bill Morris.
Mrs. Wells is survived by sons, Joshua Gurley of Decherd and Dalton Wells
of Tullahoma; daughter, Brandy Gurley of Winchester; step daughters, Misty
Brinkley and her husband, Carey of Manchester and April Otinger and her
husband, Chad of Fayetteville and six grandchildren, Dylan Brewer, Madison
Bulington, Austin and Lincoln Gurley, Colt Brinkley and Caleb Otinger.

12/21/18 — Michael L. Freeland
Funeral services for Michael L. Freeland, age 45 of Hillsboro, will be conducted on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 8:00 A.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Adam Cutshaw and Dr. Brenton Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Freeland passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
Michael was born on June 15, 1973 in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps after serving our country for over 22 years. Michael enjoyed hunting, playing softball and was an avid Star Wars fan. A lover of cars, Michael was an active member of the Southeast Challengers. Most of all, he loved his family beyond anything else, and was the most loving husband, father and mentor to so many.
Survived by his father, William Freeland; mother, Sherry Freeland; beloved wife of 19 years, Jennifer Freeland; sons, Michael Lance Freeland, Conlan James Freeland; daughter, Aleese Michelle Freeland; brother, Joseph Freeland (Amanda); sister, Kerri Freeland Davis (Randy); in-laws, Gordy and Mary Wallace, Mike and Patricia Crawford; his aunts and uncles; numerous nieces and nephews.

12/19/18 — Ralph Melvin West
Ralph Melvin West of Tullahoma passed this life on Sunday, December 16th,
2018 at his home at the age of 87. Mr. West was born in Springton, West
Virginia to the late Ralph and Sylvia Karnes West. During his life Mr.
West served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy
during the Korean Conflict, and later worked as an instrument technician
at AEDC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one
brother, Gerald West, and one sister, Freda Huffman. Mr. West is survived
by his wife, Julia West; three sons, John, James and Stephen West; two
sisters, Deanna Stilwell and Mercedes Rudisill; and two granddaughters,
Jana and Savannah West. Visitation for Mr. West will be held on
Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm.

12/19/18 — Kenneth M. Luna
Luna, Kenneth M., of Manchester, formerly of Tullahoma, passed this
life on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 at Life Care Center at the age of 92.
Mr. Luna was born in Lewisburg to the late Matthew and Letsie Tucker
Luna. He served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corps.
during World War II and then in the United States Air Force during the
Korean Era. Mr. Luna went on to work as an Instrument Technician at AEDC
and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester. In addition to
his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Luna; two
brothers, Howard and Fred Luna; and two sisters, Evelyn Stevens and Macie
Chaney. Mr. Luna is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Luna of New
Orleans, Louisiana; two sons, David V. Luna and his wife Nanette of
Acworth, Georgia and Tracy Luna and his wife Tammy of Tullahoma; one
sister, Jo Ann Cooke of Nashville; grandchildren, Eric Luna (Rachel),
Myles Luna, Davis Luna, Isabella Luna and Amelia Luna; and his
great-grandchildren, Harper Grace Luna, Harrison Luna and Hayes Luna.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at Kilgore
Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00pm with the funeral to follow at 2:00pm with
Pastor Alex Hoffner officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial
Gardens. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that
donations be made to the Trinity Care Center, 708 1st Avenue, Tullahoma,
Tennessee 37388.

12/19/18 — Roy Wilbur Webb
Mr. Roy Wilbur Webb, 71, passed away Monday
December 17, 2018 at his home. He was born in Manchester on July 24, 1947
to Charlie Allen Webb and Bertha Lemons Webb who preceded him in death
along with his son, Roy Webb Jr.
Mr. Webb worked as a glazier for Martin and Glenn.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lee Webb; daughter, Mary Ann Umbarger
and her husband, Zane of Manchester; brother, Clifton Webb of Summitville,
TN; sister, Ola Lowery of Summitville; grandchildren, Zane Lee Umbarger and
Ashley Morris as well as 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Central Funeral Home
chapel with burial to follow in the Ragsdale Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM
– 7:00 PM Tuesday at Central Funeral Home, Manchester, Tennessee.

Graveside services for Mr. Terry Wayne McCullough, age 63, of Manchester,

1:30 PM at the funeral home. Mr. McCullough passed away suddenly on

A Celebration of Life for Richard “Bodean” Bennett Waller, age 65, of Manchester, will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at Manchester Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. He passed from this life on Friday, December 14, 2018, at Horizon Healthcare in Manchester.
Richard was born in Cookeville, TN, to the late Bennett and Doris Huddleston Waller. Richard was an electrician, he built AEDC, Bridgestone, and Nissan in Decherd, and he loved to joke around. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather.
Richard is survived by his two sons, Jason Waller (Joyce) and Austin Waller; two sisters, E.K. Waller, Rebecca Waller; three grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, and Mia Waller.
