2/2/19 — Dennis Earl McConaughey
Mr. Dennis Earl McConaughey, 57, passed away
Wednesday January 30, 2019 unexpectedly while working in Waynesboro,
Tennessee. He was born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1961. He
was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Earl McConaughey; step-daughter,
Jennifer Stever.
He was a US Army veteran serving 11 years in service. He was employed by
Hall Excavation, LLC in Manchester and was lovingly called “Pap” by his
grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Harding McConaughey; mother, Gaye
Dickinson McConaughey, Huntingdon, PA; sons, Eddie (Rachel) McConaughey,
Huntingdon, PA and Seth McConaughey, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; step-son,
Robert (Katherine) Stever, Greenbrook, New Jersey; grandchildren, Easton
Delaney McConaughey, Robert Stever Jr., Alyse Stever, Finn William Stever
and Destiny Amber Stever whom he “Pap” was raising as his own child since
the passing of her mother Jennifer Lynn Stever; brothers, Michael (Carolyn)
McConaughey; sisters, Doloris McConaughey (Jack), Melissa McConaughey;
several nieces and nephews.
A visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday February 2, 2019
from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Central Funeral Home, Manchester, Tennessee.

2/2/19 — Christopher Burns
Christopher Burns, formerly of Tullahoma, passed this life on
Thursday,January 31, 2019 at the Open Arms Care Center in Ooltewah at the
age of 43years. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 2,
2019 at 1 PM atLynchburg Funeral Home. The family willreceive friends
from 11 AM until the service time.
A native of Tullahoma, he was the son of John “Buck” Burns of
Lynchburgand Carolyn Roulette Moore of Cowan. Christopher always had a
smile on his face and brightened the lives ofmany people. He loved
people and beingsocial. He enjoyed “flirting with the ladies”. He also
enjoyed going for rides. “Hewill be missed by many people.”
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Teri
Locke(Wayne) of Fayetteville, Heather Chapman (Jack) of Lynchburg and
Cheryl Dotson(Bobby) of Winchester and several nieces and nephews.

2/2/19–Mr. Bobby Frank Layne
Mr. Bobby Frank Layne, 83, passed from this life
on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennesee
surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hillsboro, Tennessee on
April 2, 1935 to Sam and Espa Burnett Layne who preceded him in death along
with his brothers, Joe Ned Layne, Larry Bennett Layne and Harvey David
Layne.
Bobby was a graduate of Coffee County Central High School’s Class of
1953. He
worked for the AEDC Fire Department and retired in 1996. After Working for
AEDC, Bobby started his own small rental business called “Laynes
Rentals”.
Bobby loved the Lord, his family, friends, and sports. Many days you would
find him coaching baseball, softball, basketball, or track for the past 58
years. He enjoyed traveling and loved his Tennessee Vols football. Bobby
was currently coaching an Upwards Basketball Team with his grandson Larson.
In 2008, his Jiffy Burger Softball Team won the National Championship in
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. He was a member of the First United Methodist
Church in Manchester and Past Master and member of the Hillsboro Masonic
Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Topsy Roberts Layne; daughters,
Karen Layne Henegar and Kelly Layne Meltzer and her husband Mark;
grandchildren, Rachel Lauren Henegar, Jonathan Layne Henegar and Larson
Reece Meltzer of Manchester; sister, Anita Layne Nipper, Nashville,
Tennessee; brothers, Billy Sam Layne, Hendersonville, Tennessee, Charles
Michael Layne, Manchester, Tennessee and Steve Burnett Layne, Titusville,
Florida; aunt, Betty Layne Smartt, Nashville, Tennessee; brother-in-law,
Frank Parks; Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the Central Funeral Home
Chapel with Ministers, Frank Smith and Randy Brown officiating with burial
to follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 3:30 PM – 8:00

1/31/19–Judia Patricia Wilkerson
Judia Patricia Wilkerson, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday,
January 30, 2019 at the Life Care Center at the age of 70 years. No
services are scheduled.
A native of Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late
William N. and Perlean McCord Ray. She enjoyed gardening, attending
church, cooking and being with her friends and family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by
husband, Jimmy Wilkerson and brother, Willie Junior Ray.
Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by daughters, Toye L Ray of Tullahoma
and Tracy Chantelle Ray of Woodstock, GA; brother, Billy Harrison Ray of
Knoxville and sisters, Emma Jean Maupins and Pollie Sheffield, both of
Tullahoma.

2/3/19 — Kent Roger Gamble
Kent Roger Gamble, 80, of Belvidere, TN., departed this life on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his residence. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 1557 Hickory Grove Road, Huntland, TN 37345 with Bro. Chris King and Dr. Bob Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Huntland. Visitation with the family will be at the church on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 5 -8 PM.
Mr. Gamble was born in Huntland, TN on October 17, 1938 to the late J. W. Gamble and the late Oseline Kennedy Gamble. He graduated from Huntland High School in 1955 where he played football under the coaching of the late Shirley Majors. Mr. Gamble was a lifetime member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and served as Chairman of the Deacons for many years. He taught the Men’s Sunday School Class and previously the Wednesday Night Bible Study. He was the oldest surviving member.
Mr. Gamble was presently the owner of J. W. Gamble and Son, General Contractors. He and his father began their business in 1961, and it continues today, with his son, Ricky. He was known for the excellent quality of his workmanship and has built many commercial buildings and residential houses in Franklin County. He also enjoyed working on his farm and working his registered Charolais cattle. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Gamble. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bettye Soloman Gamble; sons, Ricky (Tammy) Gamble and Jeff (Sheri) Gamble, both of Belvidere; daughter, Pamela (Glen) Grant of Belvidere; four grandchildren, Adam (Jenny) Gamble of Murfreesboro, Rachel (Travis) Crossland of Belvidere, Wesley (Stacey) Gamble of Winchester, and Whitney (Timmy) Parks of Belvidere; three step-grandsons and three great grandchildren, Chloe, Matthew and Katy.

Peggy Lynn Harris, formerly of Manchester, passed this life on Tuesday,
January 29, 2019 in Malvern, AR at the age of 68 years. Funeral Services
are scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1 PM with burial to follow
at Blanton Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM.
A native of Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late
Robert and Lucille Douglas Smith. She loved to cook and enjoyed
experimenting with different recipes. She enjoyed watching old mystery
movies and redecorating her home. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and
had her time in the morning set aside for drinking a cup of coffee and
working crossword puzzles. She was always smiling and was friendly to
everyone. “Mrs. Harris was always well like and loved by family and
friends. She will be surly missed.”
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son
Shawn Harris. She is survived by sons, Rick Harris, Michael Harris (Mona)
and Wesley Harris (Christy) all of Manchester; daughter, Alicia Harris of
AR; the father of her children, Paul R Harris of Manchester; brothers,
Larry and Mike Smith, both of FL; nine grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.

Carol F. Lovely of Manchester, passed this life on Sunday, January 27, 2019
at her residence at the age of 75 years. No services are scheduled.
A native of Noble County, IN, she was the daughter of the late
Richard and Frances Pross. She enjoyed watching old sitcoms on TV, cooking
and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son
Edward Earl Lovely. She is survived by grandchildren, Malachi Lovely and
Samantha Lovely, both of Manchester; brother, Bruce and sister, Deanna.

Funeral services for Ann Garner, age 71 of Manchester, will be conducted on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Mrs. Garner passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville.
Ann was born on July 12, 1948 in Akron, Ohio to the late Alonzo and Thelma Dozier. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, being with her family and loved to play numerous instruments.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Garner and her granddaughter, Sheldan Hullett. Survived by her daughter, Barbara Hullett (Robert); sons, Johnny Giles (Sylvia), Brian Giles (Billie); grandchildren, Bryson Hullett, Hayden Hullett, Nikki Madrid (Frankie), Raven Adams (Wyatt), Johnathan Giles (Christel), Andrea Bumpus, Nathan Simmons, Leslie Simmons, Nikki Simmons, Candace Davis, Josh Davis; several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Frank Carmichael Smith, age 58 of Smyrna, will be conducted on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scotty Sorrels and Reverend Chuck Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Mr. Smith passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019.
He was born on December 26, 1960 in Coffee County, TN to the late Ewell and Patsy Smith. Johnny took pride in his work as a truck driver, employed by Universal Environmental Services for the last 16 years. He also enjoyed many years of volunteer service to the Boy Scouts of America. He loved music, camping with friends and family, and learning something new every day. He was a loyal and generous husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Louanne Smith; daughter Kelsey Barber; son Joshua Smith; brother Ricky Smith; granddaughter Julianne Barber; nephews Jonathan and David Smith; and niece Rebekah Mingle.

Mary Ruth Doty
Mary Ruth Doty, age 62 of Manchester, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester. She was born on August 30, 1956 in Franklin County, TN to the late James and Ethel Woods. Mary enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She spent many years as a caregiver working in the home health industry.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Williams and Kay Eeks. Survived by her sons, Bobby Spivey, Jr. (Miranda), James Spivey (Bridgit); brothers, Ricky Woods; grandchildren, Adam, Tate, Niki, Jonah and Levi; 3 great-grandchildren.
