3/15/19 — Chad Petty

RICHARD CHAD PETTY, age 30, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2019, at STRHS Winchester from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Petty was born in Winchester, Tenn., on July 28, 1988, to Carrol Dickey Petty and Steven Richard Petty. Mr. Petty was a 2007 graduate of Franklin County High School. He was employed at Hi-Tech Mold & Engineering, SE, Inc. in Winchester for several years. After leaving employment there he was last employed with the City of Decherd Water Department. Mr. Petty loved fishing, camping and anything to do with the outdoors. Most of all he enjoyed the time he got to spend with his daughter.

Mr. Petty was preceded in death by his Maternal grandfather, Wilson Dickey, Paternal Grandparents; Mary Lee and Richard Petty. He is survived by his parents, Carrol and Steven Richard Petty, daughter, Harper Grace Petty, brothers; Jonathan Simmons, Twin brother, Steven Ross Petty and wife, Kaysie all of Winchester, Ethan Petty of Okinawa, Japan. Maternal grandmother, Jean Dickey of Winchester. Maternal Aunts; Mary Kelley and husband Daryl of Belvidere, Gay Hall and husband, Clinton of Winchester, Jeannie Phipps and husband Russell of Hillsboro, Paternal Aunt, Kathy Payne and husband, Terry of Decherd, Paternal Uncle, Robert Petty of Hillsboro, several cousins, 1-niece and 2-nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Petty will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 14, 2019, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday evening, March 15, 2019, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor Richard Reed, officiating, and Eulogist, Robert Petty.

Interment will be in the Green Cemetery in Belvidere with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Ralph Russell 72, of Cowan, TN passed Saturday, March 9,2019 at Southern TN Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Russell of Cowan, TN; Four sisters, Jo Anna Burnette of Winchester, TN; Gladys Winston of Chattanooga, TN; Estella Burnette of Belvidere, TN; Gwen Alexander of Decherd, TN; brother, Milton Russell of Waukegan, Illinois. Host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Friendship Tabernacle at 12:00 Noon with Funeral Services to follow at 1:00 pm at Friendship Tabernacle with Elder Sandy Kinslow officiating and Elder Q. O’Brien Wherry as Eulogist.

3/23/19 — Robert “Tim” Garrett, Sr.

Robert “Tim” Garrett Sr. of Wartrace, passed this life on Saturday, March
9, 2019 at his residence at the age of 65 years. Memorial Services are
scheduled for 4 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM.

A native of Winchester, he was the son of the late Bobby Garrett and Wanda
Jean Walker Garrett , who survives. He was a U S Marine veteran. Mr.
Garrett was a member of Maxwell Baptist Church of Belvidere and was a
Mason. He enjoyed training horses, horseback riding, trail riding and
camping with his horses. He was known as a “Horse Whisperer”. He enjoyed
hunting bargains and making deals. He also enjoyed planting a garden.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by son, Robert T.
Garrett Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley Robinette Garrett of Wartrace; mother,
Wanda Jean Walker Garrett of Belvidere; son, Glen Garrett and his wife,
Kathy of Decherd; daughter, Teresa Fortner and her husband, Steven of
Drummonds, TN; brother, Terry Garrett of Taft, TN; sisters, Donna Weaver
North of Shelbyville, Bobbie Jean Garrett Riel and her husband, Richard of
Winchester and Karen Gardner of Coldwater, TN; grandchildren, Paige
Michelle Garrett Henshaw, Rebecca Hope Garrett, Alexis Jade Garrett,
Mitchell Blake Garrett, Tyler Frizzell, Noah Brown and Ethan Fortner and
several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in
his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl,
Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Jerry Lee Todd

Jerry Lee Todd, age 70, of Tullahoma passed away March 2, 2019 at St. Thomas Mid-town in Nashville. There are no services planned.
A native of Manchester, TN, he was the son of the late Woodroe and Margaret Perry Todd. Mr. Todd was a veteran of the U S Army. Mr. Todd was a manufactured homes installer.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Todd was preceded in death by a son Ronald Todd.
Survivors include his wife, Buasa Pimpoa Todd, sons Donald, and Woodroe, Todd, daughter, Victoria Todd, and sisters, Katie, Mae and Margaret Todd.

3/16/19 — Jackie Fredrick Warren

It is with great sadness we share the passing of our brother, Jackie, on
Saturday, March 9, 2019 at McArthur Manor, Manchester, TN in his 75th year.
Jackie Fredrick Warren was born on November 24, 1943 in Tullahoma, TN.

A graduate of THS and MTSU, Jackie worked in the Caribbean Islands and
Central America. The remainder of his working life was spent in the music
business in Nashville. Jackie spent his retirement years living on his
farm in Beech Grove, TN and in Tullahoma.

Jackie loved traveling, scuba diving, most all sports and riding his horse.
He was an avid coin collector, rugby player and animal lover.

Jackie is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret B. Warren and sister,
Nancy Hardaway. He is survived by his brothers: Bobby (Louise) Warren,
Wayne (Laura) Warren and Eddie (Sherry) Warren; sister, Becky (Jim) Wills;
cousin, Bob Brinkley and numerous other cousins and two aunts. Dear uncle
to eight nephews and two nieces and great-uncle to five nephews and two
nieces.

Visitation will take place at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home, on Friday,
March 15, 5 – 8 PM and Saturday, March 16, 10-11 AM followed by a
“Celebration of Life” in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at
Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Association would be
appreciated by the family.

Jackie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

3/9/19–Theodore Macklin Ball, Jr. (Ted)

Theodore Macklin Ball, Jr. (Ted), of Tullahoma, TN is no longer among the
living. He passed away on Monday, 4 March, 2019 at the ripe old age
of 89 years. Ted was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late
Theodore M. Ball Sr. and Ella Gerow Ball. He served his country proudly
in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel
and was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tullahoma.
Ted, Jr. was AKA Grandpa Ball and T. Ball. He leaves behind his
loving wife, Katherine W. Ball (Kitty) to whom he was married for 66
years. Also surviving are his two sons, Ted III and John, and their
families. Ted’s “favorite daughter-in-law” was Pamela Ball of
Fairfax Station, VA.T. Ball was blessed with four
granddaughters; Natalie, Olivia, Madeline, and Samantha. Ted was
also blessed with a great grandson, Elijah John Ball, who is 4 months
old. He is also survived by two sisters, Betsy Eberle and her husband
John and Barbara Leutzinger. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded
in death by one sister, Carolyn Baldwin. A memorial service will be
held on Saturday, March 9th, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church at 11:00am
with Dr. Stephen Yates officiating. reception and time of visitation will
immediately follow the service. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers,
the family asks that donations be made in Ted’s memory to your favorite

John D. Talley

John D. Talley, age 71, of Manchester, TN, passed away on Wednesday,
March 6, 2019 at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN. No services
are planned.

John was born in Warren County, TN, the son of the late Odie C. and
Clarice Elizabeth Scott Talley. He was a graduate of Coffee County
Central High School Class of 1965 and MTSU. John was a former editor of
the Manchester Times and High Mach at AEDC. He retired after 14 years of
service from Coffee County Consolidated Communications Center as a 911
dispatcher.

In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by two
brothers, Billy and Robert Talley. He is survived by one sister, Brenda
T. (Ray) Winton; one sister-in-law, Janey Talley; nephews, Phillip and
Mike Talley and Scott and Robin Winton; four great nephews and two great
nieces.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Sportsmen and
Businessmen’s Charitable Organization, P.O. Box 1078, Manchester, TN
37349.

3/7/19 — Melissa J. Wiser

Melissa J. Wiser of Manchester passed this life on Monday, March 4*,* 2019
at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 64. Funeral
Services are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Old Redden’s
Cemetery in Coffee County. The family will receive friends on Thursday,
beginning at 10 AM.

A native of Coffee County, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt E. and
Nellie Evans Adams. Mrs. Wiser was a nurse and retired from St. Thomas
West Hospital. She loved her occupation and being able to help people. She
enjoyed listening to gospel music and reading. Her favorite times were
spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also will be
greatly missed by her Dachshund, “Brisco”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Winfred
Adams.

Mrs. Wiser is survived by her loving husband, Eddie W. Wiser of Manchester;
daughters, Angela Jones and her husband, Jerry and Heather Wiser, all of
Manchester; brothers, Raymond Adams and his wife, Carolyn and Robert Adams,
all of Manchester; sister, Linda Adams of Manchester; grandchildren, Ashley
Reiben Goodrich and her husband, Jonathan of Murfreesboro and Eleasah and
Missy Jones, both of Manchester and many nieces, nephews and friends.

3/6/19 — Marianne Haynes Brandon

Marianne Haynes Brandon passed from this life into the presence of her
Savior Thursday, February 28, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving
family and passed peacefully after an extended illness. In the words of
one that knew her well, she was funny, loving, smart, giving, caring,
matter of fact, truth hurts and God fearing. She was a retired educator
that dedicated 37 years of her life to the education and well being of so
many young people of Coffee County. Marianne was baptized at Silver Point
Church of Christ at the age of 13 and remained a devoted member of Main St.
Church of Christ, Manchester, TN. She was a graduate of DuPont High School
in Old Hickory, TN and The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She
completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ed.S. Degrees. In her retirement,
she enjoyed her work with the Know Your Bible program at Main Street Church
of Christ, tending her flowers & her home, and spending more time with
family…especially her grandchildren. Known to many as Gran, she was a
loving and always funny presence to so many.

Marianne was born July 22, 1934 to the late Kathryn Herrin “Kitty” Haynes
and the late Melvin Jonathan “Bill” Haynes in Old Hickory, TN. Her
brothers Francis Herrin “Buddy” Haynes and Melvin Jonathan “Sam” Haynes,
Jr. preceded her in death. She was married to the late Joseph Alexander
Brandon on August 18, 1963 and taught at Central High School in Manchester
alongside her husband for many years. In 1965, she had her first child,
Tara Kathryn on April 12th and her second daughter, Joy Elizabeth on
February 16, 1972. She was blessed with “sons” John Moore and Barry
Vaulton when her girls married in 1989 and

1997, respectively. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Nicholas
Holman

Moore (1997), Samuel Denver Vaulton (2003) and Joseph Melvin Vaulton (2005.)
These were her family, her loves and so much of her life & happiness.

She was married to Joe Brandon for 46 years until his death in 2009. She
is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Tara & John Moore and Joy &
Barry Vaulton, grandchildren Nicholas Moore, Sam Vaulton, Joe Vaulton and
Logan Carter all of Knoxville, TN, brother Allen “Butch” Thompson
(Teena),
niece Kathryn Rae Thompson, nephew Allen Thompson, and nephew Jonathan
Haynes all of Mt. Juliet, TN and niece Teresa “Tee” Haynes Lawlor (Lewis)
of Old Hickory, TN.

Services will be held in Knoxville, TN at Bridges Funeral Home, Rutledge
Pike Tuesday, March 5th with Visitation from 5-7pm. Services in
Manchester, TN will be Wednesday March 6th at Central Funeral Home with
Visitation from 5-7pm and Funeral at 7pm with a private burial at Rose Hill
Memorial Gardens.

3/6/19 — James L. Coop, Sr.

James L. Coop Sr. of Estill Springs passed this life on Sunday, March 3,
2019 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 82. The family
will receive friends from 5 – 8 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled on
Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11 AM at First Christian Church of Tullahoma
with the family receiving friends from 10 AM – 11 AM. Burial will follow
at Concord Cemetery.

A native of Moore County, TN, he was the son of the late Leo and Leola
Tankersley Coop. He was a member of the First Christian Church of
Tullahoma and was very active with the “Swatt” Team. Mr. Coop worked at
TVA in Hartsville, TN and then was an operating engineer at AEDC until his
retirement. He was a 50-year member of F & M Masonic Lodge, Tullahoma and a
member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Tullahoma. He enjoyed boating and
doing crafts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nephew, Evin Knight
and niece, Rhonda Haynes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margarete Knight Coop of Estill Springs;
son, James L ”Larry” Coop Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Tullahoma; sister,
Betty Coop Haynes and her husband, Cecil of Moore County; grandchildren,
James L “Jay” Coop, III of Tullahoma and Katherine “Katie” Coop of
Murfreesboro; brothers-in-law, Clay Knight and his wife, Marilyn of Moore
County and Drexel Knight of Tullahoma; sisters-in-law, Hallie Knight Ashby
of Tullahoma, Brenda Holder Knight of Shelbyville and Vickie Knight
Minkowitz and her husband, Sam of Tullahoma; Nieces and nephews, Michelle
Haynes Moorehead and her husband, Randall of Moore County, Rita Ashby
Migliaccio and her husband, Joe of Moore County, Carla Knight Ralston and
her husband, Robert of Shelbyville, Jade Knight Bradford and her husband,
Daniel of Franklin County, Jamie Knight and his wife, Christi of
