5/25/19 — Lavern Mines
Lavern Mines of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the
Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 86 years. Funeral services are
scheduled for Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive
friends on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 5 – 8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home.
A native of Winchester, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice
Farris. She was a member of Keith Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Mines was
employed by Wilson Sporting Goods for 28 years. She then worked at the
Life Care Center of Tullahoma for 40 years as a CNA and then in the
activities department. In addition to her work at the Life Care Center,
Mrs. Mines enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with family,
especially her grandson, Doni. She also loved to go shopping and out to
lunch with her daughter-in-law, Rose.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Robert Donald Mines and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by son, Wayne Mines and his wife, Rose of Tullahoma;
brothers, John and his wife, Betty and Edward; sisters, Ellen, Carol,
Louise and Mary and grandson, Doni Mines of Tullahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the
Activities Department at the Life Care Center, 1715 N Jackson Street,
Tullahoma, TN 37388

5/23/19 — Jeffery “Jeff” Clark Jernigan
A celebration of life for Mr. Jeffery “Jeff” Clark Jernigan, age 55, of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the funeral home. Mr. Jernigan passed from this life at his residence on Sunday, May 19, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Jeff was born in Manchester, TN to Clark and Willadean Jernigan. He was a computer operator at AEDC, and was involved with Manchester Little League, the Coffee County Quarterback Club, and Manchester JC’s. Jeff loved fishing, hunting, and going to concerts. He loved watching football and baseball, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Jeff was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, Willadean Jernigan. He is survived by his father, Clark Jernigan; loving wife of 36 years, Lisa Jernigan; two sons, Chad Jernigan (Amanda Payne) and Kyle Jernigan (Hayley); one sister, LaDonna Barnes (Wayne); six grandchildren, Briley Jernigan, Braylon Jernigan, Kam Kennedy, Kate Kennedy, Brayden Payne, and Cooper Payne; many nieces, nephews, and “brothers and sisters from other mothers” as Jeff always said.

5/19/19 — Loyd “Potts” Alan Clark
Loyd “Potts” Alan Clark of Belvidere, passed this life on Friday, May 17,
2019 at the age of 68 years. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday,
May 19, 2019 at 2 PM with burial to follow at Watson Cemetery in Franklin
County. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 PM.
A native of Huntland, Mr. Clark was the son of the late Alonzo and Elise
Hill Clark. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding four wheelers. He
loved being with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy
Dale, Wiley Hugh Clark and Dave Clark and sisters, Mary Watson and Lorena
Blackburn.
He is survived by son, Homer Alan Clark of Huntland; daughter, Carri Clark
and her husband, Witchell Cruz of Belvidere; sisters, Elaine Hasting of
Tullahoma, and Modena Russell and Alice Ayers, both of Huntland;
grandchildren, LaShana, Aiden, Leigha, Tristan and Haley Clark; his special
“little firecracker”, Zoey Anderson and many loving friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Winfred Bryant Teal, age 81, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Anderson, Bro. Barry Whittaker, and Bro. Herschel Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the funeral home. Mr. Teal passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at his residence.
Winfred was born in Coffee Co., TN, to the late Woodrow and Alice Teal. He was a very God loving and God-fearing man. Winfred loved making people laugh and telling jokes. He was a very loving man, and especially loved children. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Winfred is also preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Teal and William Teal; one sister, Lucy Crumley. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Charlotte Teal; three sons, Ricky (Valerie) Teal, Randall (Sharon) Teal, and Bill (Felicia) Teal; three daughters, Faye (Johnny) Stacey, Karen Buckner, and Denise (Jerry) Hill; four brothers, James Teal, David Teal, Ronnie (Teresa) Teal, and Robert (Sherry) Teal; one sister, Mary Ann (Raymond) Floyd; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; considered grandson, Erik Fuller; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for being very kind and loving. They appreciate everything and will always remember your kind gesture.

5/19/19 — Kenneth Harold Cunningham
Kenneth Harold Cunningham of Tullahoma passed this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his home at the age of 72. Mr. Cunningham was born in Shelbyville to the late Harold and Lena Jones Cunningham. He graduated from Shelbyville Central High School in 1965, then served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Mr. Cunningham worked as a Purchasing Agent for Wilson Sporting Goods for 36 years until his retirement, he then began working as a Special Education Assistant at East Lincoln Elementary, where he was fondly known as “Mr. Ken”. He was a devoted member of Marble Plains Baptist Church, where he had served for many years as a Deacon, and Song Leader, and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Tullahoma Lodge 262, where he obtained the title of Master Mason in 1979. Kenneth enjoyed classic cars, golf, and road trips to the beach with his family. He also loved singing, and was a member of the gospel group The Devotionals. He will be remembered as a great practical joker, who loved decorating for Christmas and Halloween, and had won several awards for both. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cunningham is preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Hampton Cunningham; one son-in-law, David Ward; two brothers, James “Buster” and Anthony Cunningham; and one sister, Sue McBride. He is survived by his wife, Carol Austin Cunningham of Tullahoma; two daughters, Kim Ward of Tullahoma, and Jada Alexander and her husband Greg of Tullahoma; four grandchildren, Laken Hipps and her husband Kyle, Austin Alexander and his wife Ashley, Kendra Dodson and her husband Dakota, and Grey Alexander; five great-grandchildren, Gunner, Hazel, Talon, Elena, and Rhett; two stepsons, Fred Dinwiddie and his wife Brenda of Decherd, and Robert Dinwiddie and his wife Ally of Nashville; one stepdaughter, Audrey Sanders and her fiancé Shane Sain of Manchester; 12 step-grandchildren- with special thanks to Elizabeth and Daniel for their care of their Papa; and five step-great-grandchildren- with special thanks to Mason, who enjoyed “checking on Papa”. Visitation for Mr. Cunningham will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 5:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral Services will take place Sunday, May 19, at 2:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jack Hice officiating. Burial will follow at Marble Plains Cemetery. 5/17/19 — Flora Beatrice Wilder
Funeral services for Ms. Flora Beatrice Wilder, age 67, of Hillsboro, TN, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, and again on Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Ms. Wilder passed suddenly from this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at her residence.
Flora was born in Coffee Co., TN to the late Blanton and Ruth Kilgore. She worked at Pizza Hut for many years before her retirement. She was a very loving person who would help anyone. Flora always put others first, and her family was the most important thing to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
In addition to her parents, Flora is also preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Forrest Wilder; one sister, Lois McMahan. She is survived by her second husband, Ronnie Wilder; two sons, Leighton Wilder and Brian Wilder (Kaiti); one daughter, Dewana Smith (Andrew); one sister, Valerie Prince; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one special child, Gavin Gomez; several nieces and nephews.

5/18/19 — Jean F. Araneo
Mrs. Jean F. Araneo, 74, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2019 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester. She was born in Charlotte, NC on December 30, 1944 to Oren Franklin and Miriam Riddle Franklin who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Saint Bede’s Episcopal Church and the Coffee County Retired Teachers Association. She was retired from Coffee County Schools after 40 plus years. She taught 8th grade math, algebra and pre-algebra. She was a graduate of MTSU and Winthrop University.
She is survived by her husband, Francis G. “Frank” Araneo; daughter, Deborah Davis of Jacksonville, FL; grand daughter, Sherrie Adams, Daytona Beach, FL; sister, Kay (Lewis) Killian, York, SC; niece, Renee (Ken) Farris; nephew, Bryan (Susan) Killian; great nieces, Jessica Killian and Rylan Farris; great nephew, Carter Farris.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Bede’s Episcopal Church (93 St. Bede’s Drive) Saturday, May 18th @ 1:00pm.

5/16/19 — Robert John Balkenende
Funeral services for Mr. Robert “Bob” John Balkenende, age 73, of Tracy City, TN, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Manchester, TN. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Roseville, Iowa on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Manchester Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Mr. Balkenende passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Bob was born in Charles City, Iowa, the son of the late William and Christine Balkenende. He was a member of the St. Marks Catholic Church in Manchester, TN, where he also was an usher. He also was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Bob enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing baseball, tennis, building things, and most of all spending time with his family. Bob had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Dick Balkenende and Jim Balkenende (Nadine). He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Darter Balkenende; two daughters, Jackie Connelly (Tom) and Teri Balkenende (Traci); three brothers, Jack Balkenende (Jane), Tom Balkenende (Rhonda), and Don Balkenende (Annette); four sisters, Jane Dutcher (Jerry), Judy Balkenende, Nancy Guthart (Raymond), and Sandy Sanford (Jim); one grandchild, Sanne Balkenende.
