9/24/19 — Jerry Thomas Elam
Morrison, Tennessee – Mr. Jerry Thomas “Tom” Elam, 77, passed away
Saturday September 21, 2019 at McArthur Manor Assisted Living in
Manchester, Tennessee. He was born in Coffee County on November 4, 1941 to
Harvey Albert and Beulah Marie Toliver Elam who preceded him in death along
with his sister, Marion Elam; brothers, Gordon K., Glenis E. and James
Donald Elam.
He was a US Army veteran and a member of the New Union Church of Christ. He
was a cattle and row crop farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Anderson Elam; son, Brent
Thomas (Dana) Elam, Manchester; brother, Ralph A. (Elaine) Elam,
Manchester; sisters, June (Ewin) Davis, Manchester and Doris Hamann,
Morrison; grandchildren, Megan and Alison Elam; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Central Funeral Home chapel
with Minister Charles Williams officiating with burial to follow in the
Hopewell Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

9/22/19 — Janie Ruth Holt
Graveside services for Ms. Janie Ruth Holt, age 80, of Winchester, TN, will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Ms. Holt passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Winchester, TN.
Ms. Holt was born in Manchester, TN, the daughter of the late Cular and Mary Alice Pauline Goad Holt. Janie was a beautician for many years in her salon, Janie’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Manchester, TN.
In addition to her parents, Janie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clement, Kenneth, Jack, Leon, Ronnie, and Jerry Holt; and one sister, Audrey Walden. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

9/21/19 — Matthew Wayne Bunde
Manchester- Matthew Wayne “Matt” Bunde,44, passed away Monday, September
16, 2019, at his home in Decherd, TN. Mr. Bunde was an avid outdoorsman
and was employed by JR Manufacturing of Manchester, TN.
Matt was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Lafary Bunde and nephews John
and James Hill. He is survived by his father Marvin (Marie) Bunde of
Hillsboro and sister Lynetta Hill of Manchester.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 4-6 PM
at Central Funeral Home in Manchester with a Memorial Service to follow at
6 PM.

9/19/19 — Doris Savanah Jones
Mrs. Doris Savanah Jones, age 89 of Manchester, formerly of Cullman, AL, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
Mrs. Jones was born on August 1, 1930, to the late Rev. Marvin and Beulah Reid Smith in Dekalb County, AL. She was a homemaker who loved reading, cooking, gardening and canning. Mrs. Jones attended the Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester with her husband of 67 years, Edward M. Jones.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her sister, Lora Bell Dodd. In addition to her loving husband, Doris is survived by her children, Steven Edward Jones and his wife, Martha of San Antonia, TX,
and Melissa Kay Porter and her husband, Don, of Manchester; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 2:30 P.M. in the Central Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation with the family will begin at 2 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home.

9/18/19 — Jerry Dale Jones
Jerry “Coyote” or “Frog” Dale Jones of Normandy, passed this life on
Sunday, September 15, 2019 at his residence at the age of 75. Funeral
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 2 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hurricane Cemetery
in Moore County. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 17
from 5 – 8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
Jerry, a native of Bedford County, was the son of the late Floyd and Annie
Rowlette Jones. He was a carpenter by trade but also enjoyed building
projects at home. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing,
riding four wheelers and hunting for ginseng. Jerry had booths at the
Johnson’s Flea Market and enjoyed meeting people and wheeling and dealing.
He was outgoing and a jokester. He also enjoyed collecting old trucks and
raising chickens and goats. He loved his family and his animals.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Madie
Louise McBride Jones; son, Ronald Jones and brothers, Billy Joe and Lannie
Jones.
Jerry is survived by daughter, Rhonda Comstock and her husband, Taylor of
Normandy; brother, Ronnie Jones and his wife, Brenda of Tullahoma; sisters,
Floy Jean Brown and her husband, Lawrence of Shelbyville and Elizabeth
Brewer of Normandy; granddaughter, Leann Dunnavant and her husband, Eric of
Tullahoma; great grandson, Austin and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Funeral services for Mary Lucille Rogers, age 85, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Manchester Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Rogers passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Bailey Manor in Manchester, TN.
Mary Lucille was born in Manchester, TN, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jess Grover Earls. She graduated from Wartrace High School and attended Business School in Nashville, TN. She was an active member in the Dental Auxiliary, Garden Club, and First United Methodist Church of Manchester, TN. Most of all, she was a loving wife to Charles L. Rogers for 66 years, and a mother to her 3 sons. She was lovingly known as Granny Lu to her 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Mary Lucille Rogers is survived by her three sons, Mike (Brenda) Rogers of Huntsville, AL, Mark (Thelma) Rogers of Manchester, TN, and John (Melissa) Rogers of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Tracey, Allen, Baron (Kara), Brian (Erica), Patrick, and Gabriella Rogers; great grandchildren, Arianna Claire, Lucille Elizabeth, Michael Allen, Michael Tristan, Wyatt Allen, Henry and Avery Rogers; two sisters, Sherry Nell and Drucilla; and two brothers, Franklin and Joe Ronnie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Anita Uselton, age 72, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in New Reddens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Mrs. Uselton passed from this life on September 14, 2019 at Tennova Healthcare- Harton in Tullahoma, TN.
Marie was born on March 1, 1947, in Monterey, California, to the late Ramon and Bacilia Ybarra. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Christian Life Center Church in Tullahoma. Marie enjoyed collecting artwork, loved planting flowers, and had a soft spot for animals. Marie also enjoyed helping others and loved to make others happy.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Ybarra and Steve Ybarra. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Kenneth Ray Uselton; three sons, Ray Thomas Uselton (Lisa) and Kenneth Preston Uselton, and Gino Harris; two sisters, Reina Macias and Josephine Hamilton; three grandchildren, Arabella Uselton, Kristin Uselton, and David Uselton.

Mr. Richard Fain Gibbs, passed this life on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at
Vanderbilt Hospital at the age of 79. Graveside Services are scheduled for
Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Maplewood Cemetery with Bro.

September 16th, 2019 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until
8:00 PM and Tuesday, September 17th, 2019 from 12:00 until 1:30 PM.
Richard, a native of Bedford County was the son of the late, Richard Doyle
Gibbs and Minnie Bell Jones Gibbs and was preceded in death by his wife,
Mattie Sue Riner Gibbs. He enjoyed playing golf in years past, sketching,
writing poems, bowling, and karate, where he achieved the level of brown
belt, but his favorite pastime was enjoying his grandchildren.
Mr. Gibbs is survived by two daughters; Esther Hamilton (Mark) of
Tullahoma and Debbie Akers of Colorado, two brothers; George Gibbs (Mary
Jo) and William Gibbs (Mary Jane), both of Shelbyville, five grandchildren;
Amber Ballenger (Casey) of Pennsylvania, Joshua Buckman of Nashville,
Nicholas Buckman (Angela) of Tullahoma, Hadassa Carney and Miranda Carney,
both of Colorado, and six great-grandchildren; Caja, Milla, Brooklyn,
Addye, Mackenzie, and Kalab.
9/21/19 — Anthony E. Peters Jr.
Anthony E. Peters Jr. of Fayetteville passed this life on Friday, September
13, 2019 at the age of 42. The family has scheduled Memorial Services to
be held at 5 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, 40 Hilltop Road, Fayetteville, TN. 37334.
Anthony was born on December 19, 1976 in Miesau, Germany, the son of the
late Sylvia Shaw Peters and Anthony E. Peters of Fayetteville. He was a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Anthony was a
student at Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Shelbyville and was
working for National Aerospace Solutions at the Arnold Engineering
Development Complex. He enjoyed reading and watching game shows on TV.
In addition to his father, Tony Peters of Fayetteville, he is survived by
brothers, Michael Peters (Erin) of Raleigh, NC, Stephan Peters (Becky) of
Murfreesboro and Major John Peters (Jackie) of Belaire, MD; sister, Diana
Perkins (Jonathan) of Flintville and several nieces and nephews.

9/15/19 — John H. Mines, Sr.
John H. Mines, Sr. of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, September 10,
2019 at his residence at the age of 64. Funeral Services are scheduled for
Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 5 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. The
family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM.
John, a native of Tullahoma, was the son of the late Felix Grady and Rachel
Turner Mines. Mr. Mines was a hard-working man who loved his family very
much. He worked for the Manchester City Water Department for over 24 years.
He attended the Christian Lighthouse Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting
and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed watching history and nature shows
on TV, but his favorite times were spent with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brothers, Willis,
Larry and Jeff Mines. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Clark
Mines of Tullahoma; sons, John Mines (Jennifer) and Christopher Mines, both
of Tullahoma; brothers, Mike, Ray and Ricky Mines, all of Tullahoma;
sisters, Becky Chambers (Roger) of Moore County, Gail Austin (Lonnie) of
Tullahoma, Janice Dodd (Kenneth) of Hillsboro, Patsy Newman of Estill
Springs and Melissa Smith of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Stephanie Shaw
(Kendell) of Manchester and Johnathon Mines (Jasmine) of Tullahoma and
great grandchildren, Kaydyn, Aaliyah, Sophia, Kenzie, Madison and Matthew.
