12/18/19 – Lazaro Dominguez

*Lazaro Dominguez of Shelbyville, passed this life on December 18, 2019. No
services are scheduled.*

*Lazaro Dominguez was a very loving and compassionate man who always wanted to help others. He considered himself a “Guardian” of sorts to everyone he
met. He showed his desire to help and protect others even at his work,
which was in the Security and Surveillance industry. *
*His heart was bigger than his waist size. Anyone who knew him will agree.
His passing was very sudden and unexpected. He is survived by his brothers
Tomas Stevens, and Chico Dominguez, his sister-in-law Elena Dominguez, and
many nieces and Nephews. **He will always be loved and never forgotten. *

12/28/19 — Lorayne Smith Ray

Ray, Lorayne Smith, of Cookeville, passed this life on Wednesday, December 25th, 2019 at her home at the age of 96. Mrs. Ray was born in Moore County to the late James Luther and Alice Parham Smith. During her life, she worked as the office manager for Ragan Machine, worked for Dennis Hunt, and was a member of Raysville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Ray; two brothers, Carl Smith and Lawrence Smith; three sisters, Blanche Burt, Norma Coop, and Pauline Merrill; and one granddaughter, Krispin Nichol Ray. Mrs. Ray is survived by one son, Aubrey Gary Ray and his wife Ophelia of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Valerie Johnson, Tiffany Gentry (Mike), and Dustin Ray (Ashley); and five great-grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Zachary Johnson, Madison Davis, Jathan Gentry and Max Snider. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th, 2019 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2019 at 11:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 12/28/19– Agnes R. Fletcher

Agnes R. Fletcher, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, December
25, 2019 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester, at the age of 81. Graveside
Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, December 28, 2019 at
Maplewood Cemetery.

 A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and
Lota Smith Mathis.  She enjoyed going to auctions, listening to country
music and telling stories.  She also enjoyed traveling, going to the beach
and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shery
Bryant; brothers, Paul Eugene, Homer Lee, Lloyd and Lamont Mathis and
sister, Wilma Lois Mathis.

She is survived by son, Robert Peck Fletcher; daughter, Cindy Souders;
grandchildren, Erica, Elizabeth and Jessica and several great grandchildren.

12/28/19– Mark Kevin Frazier

Mark Kevin Frazier of Lynchburg, passed this life on Tuesday, December 24th, 2019 at his home at the age of 59. Mr. Frazier was born in Manchester to Donald and Linda Mines Frazier who both survive. During his life he worked as a carpet cleaner with Clean Masters and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Tullahoma. Mr. Frazier was preceded in death by one brother, Greg Frazier; and one niece, Kaylan Kochans. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Frazier; one son, Brad Frazier; three daughters, Amber Kirby and her husband Rick, Shayla Jones and her husband Austin, and Bailey Frazier; one sister, Marcie Myers; one brother, Shane Frazier and his wife Courtney; and three grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Kirby and Hunter Jones. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th, 2019 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2019 at 2:30pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Tim McGehee and Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

12/26/19 — Patricia “Pat” Prescott

Patricia “Pat” Prescott, age 77 of Madison, Alabama, died Sunday, December 22, 2019 in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born in Cowan, TN and was a daughter of the late James William and Bethenie McKnight Foster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Clay Prescott, Jr, brothers, Charles, Johnny, and Herbert Foster and a sister, Mabel Cannon.

Survivors include her daughter in law, Charity Prescott of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Paige Prescott Lashlee; grandchildren, Madison Prescott, Arden Prescott, Madeline Merritt, Hannah Merritt, Caroline Graham, Robert Graham, Mary Grace Graham; great granddaughter, Lilla Clay Hrinda; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Pat was a 1960 graduate of Franklin County High School and had attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Tullahoma. 

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Cowan Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan, TN. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the cemetery one hour prior to the graveside.

12/23/19 — Charles Albert “Chuck” Cornelius

Cornelius, Charles Albert “Chuck”, of Manchester, passed this life on Friday, December 20th, 2019 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro at the age of 87. Mr. Cornelius was born in Jasonville, Indiana to the late John and Hettie Shelley Cornelius. During his life, he worked as an Electrical Engineer at AEDC and was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester. Mr. Cornelius has also been a Gideon for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Cornelius, as well as his second wife, Violet McGhee Cornelius; three brothers, Arlin, Clarence, and Raymond Cornelius; two sisters, Onalee Breidling, and Goldie Fore; and one granddaughter, Kathryn Nugent. Mr. Cornelius is survived by two daughters, LaDonna Nugent and her husband David, and Stella Cornelius; grandchildren, Cheryl Nugent, David Nugent (Faith), Daniel Cerio (Augusta), Nicholas Murray, and Emily Ward (Justin); and one great-grandson, Tyler Cerio. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd, 2019 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23rd, 2019 at 11:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Pullum officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 12/26/19– Miss. Jewell Dean Goodman

Manchester, Tennessee – Miss. Jewell Dean Goodman, 91, passed away
Thursday December 19, 2019 at the Horizon Health Care in Manchester.  She
was born in Mena, Arkansas on August 16, 1928 to Charlie Goodman and Ellie
Lott Goodman who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by
her sister, Rose Ferguson and brothers, Grady and L.C. Goodman.

She spent most of her life in Dallas, Texas before moving to Kingwood Arms
in Manchester.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Manchester,
Tennessee.

She is survived by her sisters, Mildred Bell, Manchester and Lucille (Bill)
Ragland of Brevard, NC along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday December 26, 2019 at
the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating.  Arrangements

12/22/19– James Linden Shelton

James Linden Shelton, age 83, peacefully left this life on December 19, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lynda Jennings Shelton, and his children, Marcy (Ed) Schell, Jay (Cathy) Shelton and Suzy (Harvey) Murff. He was also the loving father of son, Nick Shelton (deceased). He was a beloved “Papa” to all of his grandchildren: Lily and Claudia Shelton, Hope and Andrew Shelton, James, Clara and Charlie Murff, Jennings (John) Dooley, Linden Hardee and Chris Schell. He was loved by many other cherished family members and friends. In addition to his son, he was predeceased by his parents, Jay L. and Mai Shelton, and his brother, Kenneth J. (Marcia) Shelton. Jim especially loved his family, his friends, these United States, music, Christmas, and the Tennessee Vols. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd, 2019 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 12:30-1:30pm. A graveside service will then be held at 2:00pm at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. 12/20/19 – Henry James Maguffin Sr

 Mr. Henry James Maguffin Sr., 83 passed away
Wednesday December 18, 2019 at his home after an extended illness.  Mr.
Maguffin was born in New York and retired from the State of Tennessee
Department of Corrections and was a US Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose; brother, George Maguffin;
sisters Sally Vann and Ethel Magiapane.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Maguffin; sons Henry Maguffin Sr. and
Billy Maguffin of Manchester; daughter Debbie Maguffin of Manchester;
sister Irene Funk of Connecticut and Pat Schnabel of Manchester; 9
grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Saint Mark’s Catholic Church in
Manchester with Father Stephen Klasek officiating with burial to follow in
the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday at

12/21/19 — Linda Ardella Esmeyer

A celebration of life for Ms. Linda Ardella Esmeyer, age 71, of Hillsboro, will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Ms. Esmeyer passed from this life on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at her residence.

Linda was born in Bradford, AR to the late Leon and Vida Esmeyer. She was a seamstress upon her retirement and loved The Lord. Linda loved to cook, sew, go fishing, and help others, but more importantly she loved being around her family. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Linda is also preceded in death by one son, Sampson Phipps; two siblings, Temple Esmeyer and Larry Esmeyer. She is survived by three children, Estill Phipps, Sheila Dreaden, and Vera Lance (Danny); three grandchildren, Andrea Teal, Chelsea Torres, and Victoria Howse (Devin); eight great-grandchildren, Elisabeth, David, Lydia, Karen, Job, Miriam, Christopher, and Sophia; six siblings, Sandra Taylor (Bob), Barbara Cagle (Jim), Frandy Esmeyer (Pat), Randy Esmeyer (Deborah), Marcus Esmeyer, and Rosie Lawrence (Phil).
