1/4/20 — Beth “Betty” Carol Whitehead
Beth “Betty” Carol Whitehead, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday,
December 31, 2019 at her residence, at the age of 76. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 AM – 11 AM. Burial
will follow on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 2:15 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, 660
Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204.
A native of Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Harold and
Louise Thacker Florence. She attended the Eastside Church of the Nazarene
in Tullahoma. She loved her pets, Scruffy and Sammy and enjoyed walking.
She could be seen walking all around Tullahoma, no matter what the weather.
She also loved collecting angels and they were very spiritually meaningful
to her. She had many friends in Tullahoma, at her church and at Autumn
Manor, and she was loved by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael
Florence.
Betty is survived by five children; brothers, Tom Florence of Loudon, TN,
Ron Florence of Fairfax, VA, Bob Florence of Apopka, FL and Jim Florence of
Nashville; sister, Mary Lynn Westfield of Walland, TN and several
grandchildren.

1/5/20 — Mr. Jack Preston “J.P.” Teal
Mr. Jack Preston “J.P.” Teal, 81, passed away
Tuesday December 31, 2019 at his home. He was a native of Coffee County
and was born on October 21, 1938 to the late Lank and Jessie Crosslin Teal
in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances
and Doris Teal; brothers, Vernon Deloy, Bartley Harris and Donald Teal.

He retired from Carrier after 30 years. He was a member of the Noah’s
Fork Baptist Church for many years. He loved raising and showing baby
colts. He was a golfer and loved telling jokes to everyone he came in
contact with.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carlene Green Teal; sons, Jack Jr.
and Vernon Teal; daughters, Brenda Watson, Wanda Dykes, Connie Taylor and
Kelly Rogers; speical grandson, Wesley Rogers who was like a son; sister,
Betty Metcalf; grandchildren, Donald Teal, Bridgett Rosson, Tara Walker,
Jennifer Teal, Jenny Coyle. Nicki Caudill, Dustin Taylor and Hannah Teal; 9
great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the Central Funeral Home chapel
with Elder Timothy Hastings officiating with burial to follow in the Rose
Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday at Central Funeral

1/7/20 — Billie Sue Hobbs Forsyth
Billie Sue Hobbs Forsyth, age 64, passed this life on Friday, December 20, 2019 at her home in Tullahoma, TN. Billie was a dedicated member of Daddy Billy’s Garden Club and the Coffee County Democratic Party. Billie enjoyed kayaking, gardening, and spending time with her dog, Stella. Billie is preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, John A. Forsyth. Billie is also preceded by her father Billy Colsher Hobbs; mother-in-law Ruth A. Forsyth; two brothers-in-law Bruce Sisk and Anthony Lowhorn; and nephew-in-law Mike Nix. Billie is survived by her mother Ruby Hobbs of Tullahoma; three children, Dylan (Monica) Forsyth of San Diego CA, Lacey Forsyth of Nashville, and Alyson Forsyth (Andrew Caldwell) of Tullahoma; grandson Nathanael Forsyth of San Diego CA; two sisters, Linda Sisk of Tullahoma and Ivy Lowhorn of Estill Springs; two nieces, Susie (Mark) Rambo of Tullahoma and Stacey Nix of Tullahoma; two nephews. Ryan Lowhorn of Estill Springs and Aaron (Ana) Lowhorn of Estill Springs; and several great-nieces and nephews. Billie is also survived by her ‘children by choice’ Nathan, Honey, and Addy Burt, Wyatt Smith; along with three granddogs, Capone, Knox, and Lady. A celebration of Billie’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020 at Daddy Billy’s from 5:00-8:00pm. Manchester, Tennessee – Mrs. Deborah Erline Medford, 68, passed away
Wednesday January 1, 2020 at her home. She was born in Madison, Tennessee
on September 25, 1951 to Harvey Thomas Conner Sr. and Sarah Alice Myers
Conner who preceded her in death along with her sister, Louise Compton;
brothers, Thomas Conner Jr. and William Conner.
She was a member of the Mount View Church of Christ. She was a loving wife
to her husband and traveled with him and their 3 fur babies fowr 35 years
across the country driving a truck.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Medford; her fur babies, Little
Man, Baby Girl and Sadie Mae; sister, Nell Shellhorn, Madison, TN;
brother-in-law, Danny Rust, Elkhart, IN; brother-in-law, Jerry (Debbie)
Medord, Manchester, TN; loving nieces and nephews.

12/31/19– Regina Kay Cullop
Regina Kay Cullop of Beechgrove, passed this life on Tuesday, December 31,
2019 at her residence, at the age of 61. No local services are scheduled.
A native of New Whiteland, IN, she was the daughter of the late Leroy
Vaughn and Shirley McDaniels Stutsman, who survives. She “had a big heart”
and loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed
studying history and researching her family’s genealogy. She also enjoyed
reading and being outside.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by son, Anthony “T J”
Cullop Jr.
Regina is survived by her mother, Shirley Stutsman (Jim) of Brownsburg, IN;
life partner of 20 years, Harry M. Kidder Jr of Beechgrove; daughters,
Samantha Murdaugh of Beechgrove and Sabrina Pugliese of Summerville, SC;
brother, Brent Vaughn (Elizabeth) of Coatesville, IN; sisters, Cheryl
Anderson (Mark) of Brownsburg, IN and Karen Vaughn of New Smyrna, FL and
grandchildren, Lane, Anthony and Peter Pugliese, James Preston Murdaugh and
Payton Grace Murdaugh.

1/4/20 — Perry Frasure Hull, Jr
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Perry Frasure Hull, Jr. age 72 of Manchester, will be held on Friday, January 3, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Mr. Hull passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Hull was born on April 15, 1947 in Gainesville, FL. He was of the Episcopal faith and was a 5th generation citrus buyer and grower of oranges and grapefruits while living in Florida. He was known as being a jokester and was always pranking someone. Perry had a love of all sports including golf and football. As a sports fanatic, he was always watching a game. Mr. Hull was an animal lover and a devoted family man. He will be missed by everyone who was delighted to know him.

12/31/19– Margaret Peters Carden
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Peters Carden, age 90 of Manchester, will be conducted on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Farrar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Carden passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Margaret was born on January 17, 1929 in Jamestown, TN to the late E.O. and Alice Peters. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Carden was retired from Coffee County Central High School where she taught Health and P.E. from 1950-1984. In her time there, she founded the Coffee County Central High School girls track team where they won their first State Championship. Margaret loved spending time at the beach, fishing, reading, and after retirement she became an avid golfer.
Survived by her loving husband of almost 70 years, L.D. Carden; daughter, Lisa Carden Moore (John); sisters, Nancy Wood (Estill), Joyce Mullinex; grandchildren, Thomas Carden Webb (Jessica), Lisa Kaili Diamond; nephew, Lloyd Carden; numerous nieces and nephews.
1/4/20 — Naomi Fay Simmons
Mrs. Naomi Fay Simmons, 91, passed away Friday
December 28, 2019 at McArthur Manor in Manchester. She was born in Beech
Grove, Tennessee on June 20, 1928 to Joshua Belle Fletcher and Lula Pearl
McCullough Fletcher who preceded her in death along with her husband, Doyle
Kelso Simmons; son, Terry P. Simmons; sister, Camelia Rooker; brothers,
J.B. Fletcher Jr. and Johnson Fletcher.
She was a member of the Bible Methodist Church. She was employed by Star
Union and retired from Edens Pajama Factory.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne and her husband Steve Parks of
Hillsboro, Tennessee; grandchildren, Chris (Kristen) Simmons, Kerrie
(Keith) Pippenger, Kelsie (Bradley) Adams, Jennifer Simmons and Lindsey
(Matt) Puia; 9 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Frances Simmons and
Thula Fletcher; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday January 4, 2020 in the Central
Funeral Home chapel with Minister, Tom Watkins officiating with burial to
follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

12/31/19 — Gary France Allen
Allen, Gary France, of Lynchburg, passed this life on Saturday, December 28th, 2019 at Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro at the age of 77. Mr. Allen was born in Shelbyville to the late James R. and Sara E. Grooms Allen. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and went on to work as a driver for UPS. Mr. Allen was also a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Moore County. Some of his fondest memories in his adult life came from being the Bulldogs Coach in the Frank Mullins Youth Football League. Any former players are invited to attend the funeral service and act as honorary pallbearers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Allen; and one daughter, Michelle Hamlin. He is survived by his wife, Theda Allen; one daughter, Marsha Allen Hedge; son-in-law, Sean Hamlin; grandson, Drake Cook and his wife Brittany; three great-grandchildren, Trinity, Linda and Zander; one sister, Gail Mason; one brother, Donald Glen Allen and his wife Cathy; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Allen will be held on Monday, December 30th, 2019 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 31st, 2019 at 1:00pm at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, 87 Smith Chapel Drive, Shelbyville, Tennessee 37388 with Bro. Chris Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. 12/28/19 — Brenda Elaine Rigsby
Miss Brenda Elaine Rigsby, age 74, passed away on December 25, 2019 at St Thomas Rutherford Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in McMinnville, TN on August 27, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Marlin Rigsby. Miss Rigsby is survived by cousins Glenda Bagsby, Dale Lorance (Jennifer), Marsha Milan, and Gary Bryant (Gail) and their children and grandchildren, and by devoted friend Mary Emilane McLemore and her children and grandsons. Miss Rigsby taught Junior High in Manchester, TN and Senior High in Orlando, Florida for many years and genuinely loved and was loved by her students. She was also employed several years at AEDC in Tullahoma, TN. She will be remembered by her family and many friends as thoughtful, generous, kind, and caring. She was a person who lived her faith; she attended Center Point Pentecostal Church in Murfreesboro, TN and she cherished her church family. Services for Miss Rigsby will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Manchester Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00-2:00 followed by the funeral service at 2:00. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Allen, Bishop Phil DePriest, and friend, Rick Spann. Burial will take place at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma. Pallbearers will be James Bagsby, Tim Lorance, Tony Lorance, Dale Lorance, Gary Bryant, and Jon McLemore.
