2/17/20 — Mattie M Murray

Mattie M Murray of Pelham, passed this life on Wednesday, February 12, 2020
at Vanderbilt Hospital, at the age of 73. Funeral Services are scheduled
for Monday, February 17, 2020 at 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with
burial to follow at Warren/Red Hill Cemetery in Pelham. The family will
receive friends from 10 AM until the service time.

A native of Pelham, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Elsie Meeks
Layne. She worked as a parking enforcement officer for the Taylorville
Police Dept in Taylorville, IL for many years. She loved being outdoors and
enjoyed gardening and cooking.  She “loved life” and being with her
children and grandchildren.

Mattie is survived by her husband, David Murray of Pelham; sons, Dayle
Lawyer of Owaneco, IL, Dennis Lawyer (Susie Smith) of Taylorville, IL and
Travis Lawyer of Pelham; brothers, Junior Tucker of Pelham and Kelly “Bugs”
Layne of Gruetli-Laager; sister, Lucy Hill (Billy) of Pelham; nine
grandchildren and five plus one on the way, great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in
her honor to Memorials Processing, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,
501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.

2/16/20 — Carol Elaine Toms Benson

Funeral services for Carol Elaine Toms Benson, age 74, of McMinnville, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Manchester Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blanton’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday evening at the funeral home. Ms. Benson passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at her residence.

2/15/20– Margaret Lee Ham

Funeral services for Ms. Margaret Lee (née Stuber) Ham will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. Marvin Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Margaret was born April 20, 1926. She went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. She was with us for 93 years and 10 months. Margaret was a member of Forest Mill Baptist Church.

Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Leonard Ray Stuber; mother, Annie Ardell (née Hudson) Stuber; stepmother, Elsie Stuber; sister, Mary Virginia (née Stuber) Paschall. She is survived by her four sons, Jim Ham (Cheri) of Murfreesboro, Bill Ham (Amanda) of Hillsboro, Dennis Ham (Sheila) of Manchester, and Rick Ham (Julie) of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank everyone for being here to celebrate and honor her.

2/15/20– Robbie Jean Travis

Robbie Jean Travis of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Tennova Healthcare – Harton, at the age of 85. Fr Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the uneral Services are scheduled foservice time.
A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dale Travis Jr. and the late Enza Lee Sanders Travis. The was a retired teacher having taught for many years at Robert E. Lee School in Tullahoma. She joined First Baptist Church of Tullahoma in 1950 and taught Sunday School for many years. She always enjoyed being around her family and friends. She was a “History Buff” and enjoyed studying her family’s genealogy. She was also an avid reader.
In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Virginia Bean.
Robbie is survived by sister, Patricia Travis of Tullahoma; nephew, Robert Bean of Winchester; nieces Jennifer Bean of Raleigh, NC and Jill Bean Anderson (Ed) of Gulf Shores, AL; great nieces and nephews, Caleb Bean of Winchester, Zachary Polleck of Raleigh, NC, Laura Elizabeth Thomason (Matthew) of Birmingham, AL, Jenna Polleck of Raleigh, NC and Scott Polleck (Kelly) of Felton, Delaware; great great nephew, Jaxson Polleck; good friends, Janice and Raymond Welch and Kay and Jerry Rope and their son, Kevin, both of Tullahoma and several other cousins and family members whom she loved dearly.

2/13/20– Don Robert Lockhart

Don Robert Lockhart, age 88, passed away Monday at his home surrounded by
family on February 10, 2020. He was an Air Force veteran, a master
machinist and AEDC machine shop supervisor for 30 years. He was a dedicated
Sunday School teacher, church board member, and choir member at Tullahoma
Church of the Nazarene for many years. Mr. Lockhart is survived by his wife
of 68 years, Elizabeth “Bea” Cary Lockhart; daughters Brenda (Tony) Farless
of Tullahoma, Patricia (Jeff) Stewart of Monteagle, and Donna Foster of
Tullahoma; 8 grand-children; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2
great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM
Wednesday, February 12, at Central Funeral Home. The funeral will be
Thursday, February 13, at 10:00 AM, followed by the burial in the Fredonia
Cemetery.

2/22/20– Dr. Bennie F. Ferguson West Worthington

Judy Worthington (Dr. Bennie F. Ferguson West Worthington) departed this
earthly life on Monday, February 10, 2020, at St. Thomas Mid-town in
Nashville. She was a Christian and a Volunteer; she served the
Arrowheads/Aerospace Museum for 30+ years. She was active in business,
gardening, historical and literary organizations; she was an author,
officer, participant, publisher, and speaker.She traveled to 60 foreign
countries and to 50 states. Judy is preceded in death by her parents,
Estill Joe and Clemmie Huffman Ferguson; siblings, Vera Elbaum, EC and
Austin Ferguson; husband Bryce West and Mayor Roy Lee Worthington.

2/13/20 – Anna Ross Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Ross Johnson, age 86 of Manchester, will be conducted on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Mayo, Reverend Louis Davis and Reverend Roger Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Mrs. Johnson passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Bailey Manor in Manchester, TN.
Anna was born on June 8, 1933 in Jasper, Alabama to the late John Edward Ross, Sr. and Mary Glass Ross. She was a member of Bell Springs United Methodist Church. Anna spent many years in the ministry with her husband of 67 years, Louis Johnson. She enjoyed fishing, singing in the choir, playing the piano and reading.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, John Edward Ross, Jr.; sisters, Mary O’Rear, Binnie Kasazkow. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Allene Lansford (Danny), Angela Davis (John); sons, Ed Johnson (Candace), L.A. Johnson, Jr.; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many who called her “Mom”.

2/12/20– Joyce Crosslin

Funeral services for Ms. Joyce Crosslin, age 74, will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Ragsdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Ms. Crosslin passed from this life surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN.

Joyce was born on June 9, 1945, in Loogootee, Indiana, to the late Sherman and Eva Taylor. She was an independent woman whose spirit lit up the room. Joyce was a single mother for a very long time, but she always put her children first. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she was even her daughter’s Brownie Leader for Girl Scouts for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Wallace Crosslin; four brothers; four sisters; three grandchildren, Leela Pope, Conlee Pope, and Leena Pope. She is survived by her daughter, Bobbi Keene; her son, George Keene (Candie); four grandchildren, Lee Keene, Preslee Pope, Karina Spencer, and McKenzie Keene; one great-granddaughter, Addisyn Spencer.

2/14/20– Jacob Bridges Jr.

Jacob Bridges Jr., of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday, February 9th, 2020 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Hal Bridges, M.D., his mother, Geneva Connelly Steen; and his daughter, Tammera Lynn Bridges. Hal is survived by his wife, Joyce Bridges; his son, Jacob Hal Bridges III (Louise); half-brothers, Bob Steen and Scott Steen; granddaughters, Jessica Lynn Bridges (Adam) and Rebecca Grace Bridges (Chris); great-granddaughter, Eliana Pearl West; and great-grandsons, Ronan Christopher Doyle, Sullivan Thomas West, and Charlie Francis Doyle. Born in Aiken, South Carolina, Hal spent his early years living with his beloved grandparents, Joe and Mary Connelly in Walterboro, South Carolina. He attended Chattanooga Central High School and received an athletic scholarship to play football for The University of Tennessee. Hal was an avid fan, alumnus and Letterman for the Vols. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees in physics, mathematics and computer science and worked for Sverdrup at AEDC for 36 years. Alongside his wife of 64 years, Hal moved to Tullahoma in 1958 where they raised their two children. Hal was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and remained a lifelong resident of Tullahoma where he enjoyed yard work, gardening, woodworking and creating fine furniture. He and Joyce are members of and attend First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14th, 2020 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 11:00am-1:00pm. A private graveside service will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, New York 10001.  Kilgore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Angela K Carrier

Angela K Carrier of Bell Buckle, passed this life on Thursday, February 6,
2020 at her residence, at the age of 55. No services are scheduled.

A native of Fairfax County, VA, she was the daughter of Jimmie Ray Murphy
of Florence, AL and Zona VanValkenberg of Nampa, Idaho.  Angela enjoyed
making jewelry and attending Renaissance Fairs.  She met her late husband,
Russell B “Torok, the Good Troll” Carrier Jr, at a fair and he later
proposed during a fair and they were married at the Renaissance Fair in
Florence, AL. They loved to travel to Renaissance Fairs being held in the
surrounding states.  Angela’s favorite color was Purple.

In addition to her husband, Angela was preceded in death by son, Nathaniel
Shea White.

Angela is survived by her parents, Jimmie Ray Murphy and Zona VanValkenberg
of Nampa, Idaho; sons, Daniel Ray White (Brittany) of Fayetteville and
Zachary White (Katie) of IL; daughter, Britney White (Chris Burns) of Bell
Buckle; brother, James Murphy (Kitty); sisters, Julie Abbe of Sacramento,
CA; Sheila Martz (Randy) of Nampa, Idaho and Jamie Mitchell (Billy) of
Florence, AL and fifteen grandchildren.
