WANDA LEE ARNOLD BLACKBURN, age 82, of Bonifay, Florida, formerly of Shelbyville, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., following an extended illness. Ms. Blackburn was born on July 13, 1933, in Shelbyville, Tenn. to the late Glendon Prater Arnold and Woodrow Wilson Arnold.
She was employed at several different businesses during her lifetime and was employed the longest at Genesco Shoes as an Inspector. Ms. Blackburn is a member of the Bonifay Church of Christ in Florida. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing games on her computer. Most of all she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved going to church and people.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Blackburn, sister, Helen Hise and brother, Glenn Arnold. She is survived by her son, Dana Blackburn of Bonifay, Florida, daughters; Karen McGowan of Winchester, Denise Gannon of Westfield, Florida and Jennifer Davies and husband James of Bonifay, Florida, brother, Gary Arnold of Indiana, 10 grand-children, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation for Ms. Blackburn will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday evening in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday Evening in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Randy Davis, officiating. Interment will follow in the Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, Tenn.
