Linda Jean McKinney

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Jean McKinney
who passed away October 11th at the age of 74. She was born June 13th, 1946
in Mt Vernon, Kentucky to the late George and Jessie (Bostic) Johnson.

Linda was married to her beloved husband James McKinney. They were high
school sweethearts, both attending duPont Manual in Louisville. They were
separated for a long period of time and were reunited and married for 26
years, he was the love of her life.

Better known as Mimi by those who knew and loved her, she was full of life
with an infectious smile and loved all types of people and had many friends
from all walks of life. Linda had a passion for reading and loved to play
cards (Molly) and board games. She was an excellent homemaker; and enjoyed
canning, sewing and cooking.

Some of her best days were spent at the lake fishing or on vacation walking
along the beach.

For many years she worked at Church Hill Downs in the Derby Café. After
leaving Kentucky she began a new life and retired to Manchester, TN with
her husband where they enjoyed the quiet and simple life of rural living.

She is survived by her husband James McKinney, children Tina McKinney
(Christopher), Michael George, grandchildren April Case, Hallie Whitehead
and Jay Bynum , sister Elven Griffin Kellar, a host of nieces , nephews and
friends all of whom she loved and touched dearly.

Predeceased by children Tony Helm and J.D George, sisters Mable Reppert
Burdette and Bobbie Davenport, and brothers Jr. (June Bug) Johnson, James
Johnson and Lester Mullins.

A celebration of life service will be held in Glasgow, KY at a future date.
