flower 9Paul Michael Quinn Sr. (Mike) 82, Beechgrove, Tennessee, July 12, 1934,
Passed from this life September 25, 2016. Visitation will be held
Thursday, September 29, from 6 until 8:00 P.M. at Central Funeral Home,
Manchester, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at Temple Baptist
Church, Fairlane Drive Manchester, Tennessee on Friday, September 30, at
1:00 P.M. followed by burial at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Tullahoma,
Tennessee. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of the late
O.C. Quinn Sr. and Ethel Parker Quinn. He was preceded in death by three
sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60
years, Mary Jean (Dunnie) Quinn of Beechgrove, sons Paul Michael Quinn
Jr. (Priscilla) and David Quinn of Beechgrove, daughter Diana Quinn of
Manchester, two grandsons, Ian Quinn (Michelle) of Phoenix Arizona,
Parker Quinn (Lindsey) of Manchester, one granddaughter, Meagan Peacher
(or Campbell) (Luke) of Robertsdale, Alabama and two great grandchildren
and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews for which he has great
fondness.

Upon graduation from the Massey College in 1954 (later absorbed by
Sanford University) he was employed by Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham,
Alabama which was involved in the overhaul of WWII aircraft such as the
B-25, B-50, and C-119. While employed as assistant to the company’s
Equipment Control Officer, he attended day and evening courses in
aircraft tooling and production offered on site by the U.S.A.F. for two
years.

In 1957 he was assigned to the Army Ballistic Missile Agency (later NASA)
at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama to assist in development of the
Jupiter, June, and Saturn missiles. Due to slowdown in space industries,
he changed career direction to join Liberty National Life Insurance as an
agent in the Murfreesboro, Tennessee district office, where he received
the National Quality Award and National Sales Achievement Awards
presented by American Life Underwriters Institute.

In 1977 he rejoined Avco Aerostructures in Nashville, Tennessee where he
had previously worked on a short term basis. While at Avco (later
Textron) he worked on various aircraft projects until his promotion in
1979 to Manager of Manufacturing Planning until his retirement there in
1989.

Mike enjoyed his family, church, fishing and reading Christian and
historical literature as well as many biographies. He was an active
member of the Temple Baptist Church.
