Floyd William Bryan was born December 13, 1934 with twin brother Boyd
George Bryan to the late William Whitson and Mae Huffman Bryan at Dr.
Clarence Farrar’s office that was over Baker Bros. Drug Store on E. Main
St. in Manchester. The boys attended 1st thru 8th grade at the Asbury
School and graduated May 1954, from Central High School in Manchester.
Floyd followed his father and enlisted in the Navy, trained in San Diego,
California, and joined the carrier USS Kearsarge off the coast of Korea
until the end of the conflict and then sailed 4 years in the Pacific.
Coming home in 1958 he went to work in Murfreesboro at G.E. Floyd had a
big year in 1959, he met and married Marilyn Anderson, started a new
career at AEDC in Power Control (ESF) as an electrician and later
electrical supervisor until his retirement. After retiring, he loved to
do woodwork, cook, garden, and share all the goodies with friends and
neighbors. He planted a vineyard and made wine with friends and traveled
the world, visiting 6 continents with friends at Stanton Tours. Floyd
enjoyed hosting Barbecues, Fish Fries and raising Christmas Trees on the
farm. Preceded in death by 3 brothers; H.B., C.D., and twin brother, Boyd
Bryan, and a sister; Lucille Bryan Jones. Survived by wife of 57 years;
Marilyn, a son; Edward David Bryan (Penny Ann) of Trinity, North
Carolina, 2 daughters; Valerie Buergey (Chris) of Beaufort, South
Carolina, and Teresa Bryan of Payson, Arizona, a grandson; Ethan
Alexander Bryan, 2 granddaughters; Amelia Ann and Emily Ann Bryan, all of
Trinity, North Carolina.
