Graveside services for Mrs. Opal Quick Green, age 89, of Chattanooga, TN, will be conducted at 12:00 Noon CST (1 PM Eastern) on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM (CST) on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Green passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.
Mrs. Green was born in Culman, AL, the daughter of the late Jewel and Hester Henslee Quick. She grew up in Manchester, TN, where she met and married her husband and they moved to Chattanooga, where they lived for 50 years. She was a member of East Ridge Church of Christ in Chattanooga.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was also preceded in death by one brother, Melvin “Shorty” Quick; and one sister, ONeal Quick Jernigan.
She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 67 years, Marvin C. Green; one daughter, Phyllis Green Hill of Kingsport, TN; one son, Bruce (Lisa) Green of Houston, TX; four grandsons, Dr. Chris (Charity) Perry of Chattanooga, TN, Michael, David and Andrew Green of Los Angeles, CA; one granddaughter, Amy Perry of Knoxville, TN; two great grandchildren, Gracie Hope and Glory Faith Perry; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The family will also receive friends in Chattanooga on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at East Ridge Church of Christ.
