James Lurton Brock, age 71 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on July 22, 2014 at the Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.
Mr. Brock will be fondly remembered as the Meat Butcher at Powers’ Market in Manchester for many years; a faithful member of the Manchester Church of God of Prophecy and loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother who liked trains, fire trucks and old westerns. He also enjoyed taking road trips and being a volunteer fireman for the Manchester Fire Department.
He was born in Pikeville, TN and was preceded in death by his father, the late James Allie Brock; and brothers, Charlie Brock and infant twins, Alton Brock and Aulton Brock.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Sue Sparkman Brock of Manchester, TN; mother, Daltha Myrtle King Brock of McMinnville, TN; children, Jimmy L. Brock and his wife Debbie, Sue A. Anderson and her husband Steve, Johnny W. Brock and his wife LaNessia and Nancy D. Long and her husband Stacy all of Manchester, TN; five sisters, Joyce Pinkston of McMinnville, Tina Seals (Jimmy) of Manchester, Marie Hyatt (Harold) of Centertown, Clara McGee (Gordon) of McMinnville and Ruby Northcutt (Ricky) of McMinnville; three brothers, Wayne Brock (Sarah) of McMinnville, Reed Brock (Bonnie) of Merrillville, IN and Twyman Brock of Warner-Robbins, GA; ten grandchildren, Danielle Long, Miley Long, Hanna Brock, Dakota Finchum, Casey Brock, Janette King (Randall), Trent Anderson, Kayla Anderson, Brian Anderson and Sarah Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Julianne Brock and Torrey Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Pastor L. E. Butler and Brother Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hodges Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
