Serena Theo Hall, age 92 of Decherd, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Golden Living Center following several years of declining health.
She was born in Huntland, TN to the late John Frank Hall and Nora Alice Armor Hall but moved to Winchester as a young child.
She worked for the U. S. Department of the Treasury in Washington, DC from January 1942 until her retirement in December 1979. She received the Albert Gallatin Award from the Treasury Department upon retirement. She was an active member of the Washington Calvary Baptist Church for 52 years and was a DAR member. She returned to Winchester later in life to be near her family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Blake, Sam, Alton, Buel and Claxton and a sister, Leona Pogue.
She is survived by her sister, Christine Burbage of Winchester; brother, Ed Hall of Hammond, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin 10 AM Monday, July 16, 2012 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral services at 12 Noon.
Interment will follow at Winchester Memorial Park.
