7/07/2016—Carl Wilson Henley

Funeral services for Mr. Carl Wilson Henley, age 94, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Benny Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Henley, Tyler Mitchell, Jeffery Walker, Greg Keeling, Jackie Garner, Ryan Armer, and Buck Blanton. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Henley passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Manchester Healthcare.

Mr. Henley was born in the Prairie Plains Communtiy of Coffee County, TN, the son of the late Roy Henley and Eva Partin Henley. Wilson began his career working in the dairy business for 20 years, followed by 20 years in the Allis Chalmers Equipment business, then 20 years in the grain elevator business, and ending with 24 years in the Conklin business. Wilson and his wife, Sue, were awarded the very first “Spirit of Conklin Award” from the Conklin Company, where they were regional sales directors. Wilson was a faithful member of Main Street Church of Christ. His many hobbies included coaching baseball, watching the Atlanta Braves, and working on his lawn.

In addition to his parents, Wilson was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Mary Sue Brassfield Henley, who passed away in 2015; two brothers, Morgan Henley and John Partin Henley; and three sisters, Jean Ethridge, Cleo Long, and Vera Garner. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Mitchell and her husband, Steve, of Taylorsville, NC; two sons, Carter Henley and his wife, Linda, and David Henley and his wife, Marcia, both of Hillsboro, TN; one sister, Rachel Croft of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Ginger Keeling, Shane Henley, Twilla Walker, Tyler Mitchell, Jennifer Henley and Rachel Henley; and eight great grandchildren.
