JOE EDWARD SANDERS, SR., age 56, of Decherd, Tenn., formerly of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, June 29, 2018, at the Alvin C. York, V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn., losing a brief battle with cancer. Mr. Sanders was born in Manchester, Tenn., to the late Leroy Sanders and Peggy Davis Sanders on April 12, 1962. Mr. Sanders was a U.S. Army Veteran. After his service in the Army he was employed for many years as a Truck Driver. Mr. Sanders was an avid U.T. Football fan. Before his illness he was residing in Abilene, Texas. Mr. Sanders heart was with the Hope Haven Ministries homeless shelter, where he was a volunteer.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his brothers; Steve and Ricky Sanders. He is survived by his daughters; Keri Frank (Miles Smith) of Decherd, Tenn., Jessica Sanders (Nathan Maxwell) of Everette, Wa., son, Joe Sanders, Jr. and wife, Brittany of Spokane, Wa. 5-Grandchildren; London, Gunner, Macie, Jolie, Zoey. Sister, Debra Richards and husband, Doug of Tullahoma. Several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. Friday evening, July 6, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Military honors bestowed. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 P.M. until service time at 6:00.
