Nettie Katheryn Sims, age 87 of Decherd, passed away June 5, 2012 at Southern TN Medical Center.
She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John Henry Payne and Bessie Ward Payne; husband, Sorris Sims; and brothers, Clarence Payne Sr, John Henry Payne II and Wendell Emmette Herring.
Survived by daughters, Gina Maria Sims-Johnson of Decherd and Carlotta Denise Sims Scheaffer of Shelbyville; son, Wendell Payne Sims of Albany, KY; grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Jones of Shelbyville, Wendell Thomas Jones of Albany, KY, Shaun Christopher Sims-Johnson of Decherd and Aimee Katheryn Ballanger of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Mary McCurdy Willis of Detroit, MI, Donna Lee Wells of Los Angeles, CA, Virginia Jennings of Tullahoma, Joannie Carden of Tullahoma, Dorothy Frazier of Bell Buckle and Esther Sims of Tullahoma; brothers-in-law, Charles Sims of San Diego, CA and S.T. Sims of Bakersfield, CA; God sisters, Anna Shearer and Sylvia Dunigan of Estill Springs; and a host of nieces, nephews, grt nieces and grt nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ and friends.
Visitation is 10 AM-12 Noon Monday, June 11, 2012 at Moore-Cortner Chapel.
Funeral services to follow at 12 Noon with Pastor Quinton Fletcher officiating.
Interment at Mt. Garner Cemetery.
