Funeral services for Mr. James Monroe “Jimmy” Bartlett, age 78 of Manchester will be conducted at 2pm, Monday, May 7 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Prairie Plains Cemetery.
Visitation with the Bartlett family will be from 4pm until 8pm, Sunday at Manchester Funeral Home.
Mr. Bartlett passed away Friday, May 4 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmy was born in Hillsboro, Tennessee the son of the late James Leonard Bartlett and Rosa Marcrom Bartlett.
In earlier years Mr. Bartlett was the Massey-Ferguson Tractor Dealer (A&G Equipment) and also the Case (Bartlett Farm Service) dealer in this area. Jimmy also transported milk from dairy farms and later operated Bartlett Excavation in Coffee County. Jimmy attended the Church of Christ and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebecca Irene Bartlett, an infant son, Aaron Wayne Bartlett and by a brother in law, Rondol Oakley.
Jimmy is survived by: His loving wife of 53 years-Mrs. Irene D. Bartlett of Manchester
One Son- Benton (Donna) Bartlett of Manchester
Two Daughters- Brenda Sue (Terry) Cunningham of Kingsport, Tn
Mary Ann (Clarence) Rainey of Atlanta, Ga.
Five grandchildren- Rebecca Bartlett, Bryan Bartlett, Rachel Cunningham, Katherine “Katie” Cunningham and James Cunningham. One sister-Mary Oakley.
