5/29/14 —- Mrs. M. Alberta Poff Johnson

Mrs. M. Alberta Poff Johnson of Tullahoma passed away after her long hard battle with cancer on May 29, 2014. She was 78 years old.

She was the wife of the late Howard A. “Buddy” Johnson of Tullahoma for over 50 years. Mrs. Johnson was born May 3, 1936 as the only child of the late Albert Poff of Manchester and Hazel Roberts Poff Vandygriff of Summitville. She was preceded in death by her only son in 2013, Rikio A. Johnson of Shelbyville.

She is survived by her daughter, Rene’ K. Johnson Pearce of Baton Rouge, LA., granddaughter Danielle E. Morrison Bachman of Tullahoma, grandson Damien E. Morrison of Murfreesboro, great granddaughter Jenna Bachman of Tullahoma, a very devoted sister- in- law Mary Jo “Jody” Johnson Daniels of Tullahoma, a devoted brother- in-law Jerry O. Johnson of Tullahoma, her best friend of 74 years Shirley Cooley Mann of Manchester and a host of loving friends, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Johnson had been an employee of Redstone Arsenal in the late 1950’s and was employed at Arnold Airforce Base as the manager of B.X. from where she retired. She was a huge Alabama football fan and loved fishing and taking care of her yard. She also enjoyed reading and when her late husband was alive they enjoyed taking pictures at the lake.


There will be a private memorial service for family and friends at a later date.
