SONNY BOY STEELE, age 76, of Decherd, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester.
He was born on January 3, 1939 in Franklin County to the late Henry and Lillie (Sisk) Steele.
Mr. Steele was employed at Lannom’s Tannery in Tullahoma before coming disabled. He was of the Pentecostal faith and at one time served as a minister. Mr Steele’s hobbies were antique model cars, guitars and building model churches and houses from matches and Popsicle sticks.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Herrin Steele. son, Rusaw Steele and 7 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by daughters; Elwanda Master of Estill Springs, Tenn., Frances Bennett of Bell Buckle, Tenn., son, Rodney Baker of Tullahoma, Tenn., brother, Kenneth Steele and his wife, Crystal of Illinois, sister, Dorothy Pinion and her husband, David of Keith Springs Community, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Grant Funeral Services.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 24, 2015, from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. James Riddle and Bro. Bell, officiating.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
