flower 22James Edward “Red” Pass, age 89 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away into rest on May 12, 2016 at the Alive Hospice in Nashville. Mr. Pass retired from AT&T Bell South after 37 years of service; was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII and the Korean War; and was past commander of the American Legion Post 78 in Manchester. He served as a baseball coach for Babe Ruth and Little League. He will be fondly remembered as one who dearly loved his family, enjoyed the the joy of laughter, the sharing of a good story, the outdoors, gardening, beekeeping, and camping. Mr. Pass volunteered his time, skill and services to the blind by repairing their machines especially designed to provide blind participants the opportunity to play baseball by hitting and catching the ball. Mr. Pass was preceded in death by his parents, the late Edgar Green Pass and Nancy Lasater Pass. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn Agee Pass of Manchester, TN; sons, Jimmy Pass ( Carol) of Manchester, TN and Eddie Pass (Cheryl) of Beech Grove, TN; and daughter, Darlene Pass Goodier (Paul) of Orange Park, Florida; sister, Roselee Moore of Tullahoma, TN; two grandchildren, Jonathan Pass and Amy Beth Smith of Manchester, TN; and a host of friends.
