pylesMrs. Ardys Pyles, age 90 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Friday, May
13, 2016. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Rose
Hill Memorial Gardens at 2:00 P.M.

Mrs. Pyles was born February 24, 1926 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to Robert
O. and Bonnie (Cunningham) Marlin. She was the oldest of 4 children, her
siblings being; Roberta Marlin Anspach of Tullahoma, Robert O. Marlin III
of Galveston, Texas and John Cunningham Marlin, Sr. (deceased) formerly of
New Orleans, Louisiana.

She married John S. Pyles of North Little Rock, Arkansas in 1950 and
together they waltzed across Texas and Arkansas loving every town they
lived in and making friends all along the way. Ardys and John had two
daughters, Laurie and Becky as well as 4 grandchildren, 4 step
grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.

In Dallas, Texas Mrs. Pyles proudly and with a smile as big as Texas served
as head of the marriage license department of Dallas County, until her
retirement in 1994. She and Mr. Pyles, a former Presbyterian minister,
eventually made their home in Tullahoma, Tennessee in order to be close to
other family members living in Tullahoma.

Mrs. Pyles was a beautiful, vivacious, loving lady who put her heart and
soul into everything she did, rising to a position of leadership in every
job she held. She was a bright and shining star to those who knew her. She
treasured her husband, children and grandchildren, family and friends
holding them dearly to her heart.

Love was her theme in life, and as we remember her, it will forever be her
legacy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John
S. Pyles and beloved members of his immediate family, one grandson, James
L. Reed, one brother, John C. Marlin, son-in-law Clyde W. Smith, a nephew
Tracy D. Marlin, brother-in-law Gene Anspach.

Surviving Mrs. Pyles are her daughters, Laurie M. Smith of Tullahoma and
Becky Osten and husband Dwight Osten of Vinita, Oklahoma, three grandsons,
Justin A. White and wife Lenny Arias of Tucson, Arizona, Jon E. Reed and
wife Barbara of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Sean P. Boyle of Alexandria,
Virginia; great grandchildren, Sofia Arias-White, Natalie and James Evan
Reed, sister Roberta Anspach of Tullahoma, sister-in-law, Patricia Sanner
and husband Bob of Vilonia, Arkansas as well as numerous beloved nieces and
nephews and their families. Step families, Monty and Kim Smith and
children, Abby and Ellie, Brandon Smith and daughter, Finley, Jennifer and
David Trull, and Chad and Kirstie Osten and children, Henry and Hannah.

We wish to extend momma’s love and our heartfelt thanks to all of mom’s
friends and family around the world, and throughout the years, who have
brought joy and laughter into our mother’s life. She treasured you all.
