4/30/12 — William Albert Gaddis

William Albert Gaddis of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, April 27th, 2012 at the Medical Center of Manchester at the age of 89.
 
Mr. Gaddis was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky, to the late William and Gertrude Gaddis.
 
He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Tullahoma where he was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class, and an Ordained Deacon. Mr. Gaddis also had a perfect Sunday School attendance record for 54 years.
 
He began working at AEDC as an electrician in 1954 where he worked untill his retirement in 1985. His hobbies included restoring John Deere Tractors and woodworking. He also served as former manager for Forrest Park Apartments.
 
Mr. Gaddis proudly served as a member of The United States Army in World War II where he received the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 5 Bronze SV Stars.
 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gaddis is preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Gaddis; three sisters, Lillian Jones, Edna Penick, and Aleene Carter; and two brothers, David and Johnny Gaddis.
 
He is survived by his wife, Martha Gaddis of Tullahoma; one son, James William (Jimmy) Gaddis and wife Pat of Tullahoma; two daughters, Linda Louise Swann and husband Kenneth of Normandy, and Betty Ann Glover of Tullahoma; six grandchildren, Kimberly Ferrell of Normandy, Kelley Glover of Tullahoma, Leslie Templeton of Tullahoma, Jennifer Swann of Shelbyville, Kristy Gaddis of Tullahoma, and Toby Gaddis of Tullahoma; three great-grandchildren, Stefanie Brannon of Normandy, and Carson and Lydia Templeton; one great-great-grandchild Raelynn Sparks; two step-children, David Jones and wife Monica of Seymour, TN, John Jones and wife Cheryl of Saline, Mich.; four step-grandchildren, Jennifer Jones Sharits and husband Andrew of Powell, TN, Laura Jones of Knoxville, Jordan Jones of Knoxville, Brittany Jones of Saline, Mich.; two step-great-grandchildren, Camden and Natalie Sharits.
 
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 29th, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home with Funeral Services Monday, April 30th, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Tullahoma with Rev. Tim McGehee and Bro. Gary Irvin officiating.
 
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
