Fayetteville, TN resident and Campbell County, TN native Willard Elden Tibbs, age 81, was born October 13, 1933 and died April 21, 2015 at Lincoln Medical Center in Fayetteville, TN following an extended illness.
An electrician with TVA for 44 years, a United States Army veteran, and a member of State Line Freewill Baptist Church, he was the son of the late George and Linda Campbell Tibbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by previous wife, Audra Tibbs; son, David Tibbs; brother, William Leon Tibbs; sister, Leamond Carroll; step-sons, Eugene and Charles Young; and granddaughter, April Young.
He was married to Shirley Ann Tibbs of Fayetteville, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Patricia Tibbs of Memphis, TN, Paul and Melissa Tibbs of Manchester, TN and Philip and Sandy Tibbs of Fayetteville, TN; step-daughter, Sharon Bouldin of McMinnville; step-son, Roger Young of Smithville, TN; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Baird of Lafollette, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 in High’s Chapel with Charles Marable officiating.
Burial will follow in Isom Cemetery in White County, TN.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High’s.
