Paul Douglas “The Voice” Laney, age 54, passed away on February 6, 2015 at his home in Hillsboro, Tennessee with his loving family by his side.
Paul was a professional baseball announcer known as “The Voice” and statistician for the Tullahoma Little League and Babe Ruth. Paul’s personal motto was “if there’s a baseball in the air, Paul will be there”.
He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Linda Wood.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tracy Lee Cody Laney of Hillsboro, TN; son, Paul A. Laney of Hillsboro, TN; daughter, Tasha B. Long (Jacob Long) of Manchester, TN; father, Arthur William Laney (Janey) of Hillsboro, TN; step-mother, Louise Shirley Birkofer of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Dawn Link of Cincinnati, OH, Cathy Mersch of Cincinnatti, OH and Cindy Enwright of Cincinnati, OH; step- sisters, Tammy Hawkins and Cathy Bennett both of Manchester, TN; two brothers, Michael Laney and Ronald Laney both of Cincinnati, OH; two grandchildren, Jordie Laney of Tullahoma, TN and Abel Long of Manchester, TN; five nieces; nine nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
