CHARLES WAYNE YATES, age 64, of Decherd, Tenn., departed this life peacefully Saturday, December 27, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Yates was born in Peoria, IL on November 14, 1951 to the late Charles Edward and Mildred Elizabeth Nunley Yates. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Winchester, Tenn. Mr. Yates was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and he loved horses, fishing and spending time with his one and only grandson, Dalton. Mr. Yates is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Yates of Decherd, Tenn., son, Stacy Yates of Decherd, Tenn., daughter, Regina Rogers and her husband, Micheal also of Decherd, Tenn., grandson, Dalton Gage Reed, and sister, Sharon Stewart of Winchester, Tenn. Vistation with the family will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015, from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. with services beginning at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Larry Sanders, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made by contacting Grant Funeral Services.
