Jeanie Ann Ramirez, age 52 of Tullahoma passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday December 27 at 10 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Stephen A. Klasek officiating.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, December 26 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home from 5 PM – 9 PM with a Rosary Service at 8:30 PM.
A native of Spencer, Iowa, Mrs. Ramirez was the daughter of the late William and Iola Gannon Schomburg.
She was a veteran of the U S Marine Corps where she met her husband of 31 years, Rudolph Ramirez. After her husband retired from the U S Marine Corps, the couple moved to Albany, Georgia where they resided for the next 20 years. While in Georgia, she was the Aquatics Director for the YMCA in Albany and worked for the Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Learning Resources System. She was also a National Trainer for Positive Behavior Support. Approximately 3 years ago, the couple relocated to Tullahoma, Tennessee where she became the Resource Teacher for Robert E. Lee Elementary School. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and being a member of the Women of the Chapel.
Mrs. Ramirez loved gardening and animals but her passion was helping children. She enjoyed attending yard sales and was always looking for bargains. She was a vibrant and loving person who made friends wherever she went. When friends or family addressed her, her name always started with “My Dear Sweet ….”.
In addition parents, Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by one son, Robert Gene Ramirez and one brother, Bill Schomburg.
She is survived by her husband, Rudolph Ramirez of Tullahoma; two sons, Rudolph Ramirez Jr. of Alma, GA and Candido Ramirez and his wife, Gina of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Annie Toots Harris and her husband, Timothy of Atlanta, GA and Sophia Jean Ramirez and her fiancé, John Knight of Tullahoma; two brothers, John Schomburg of Superior, WI and Jim Schomburg and his wife, Deb of Spencer, IA; three sisters, Janice Hopkins and her husband, David of Spencer, IA, Linda Tacke and her husband, David of Lanesboro, MN and Joyce Driessen and her husband, Daniel of Rosemount, MN; three grandchildren, Lance Christian, Evan Michael and Leo Cole Ramirez and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the Children’s Activity Fund at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 304 W. Grizzard Street, Tullahoma, TN 37388
