SPEARS, Harold B. “Harley”, Jr., age 69 of Hillsboro, Tennessee passed away on October 27, 2014 in Overton County, Tennessee resulting from an accident.

He was a retired Professional Truck Driver having received three individual One Million Miles Safety Awards during his career. He was recently driving part-time for the Frank Garretson Farm. He graduated from the Manchester Central High School in 1964 and served in the United States Air Force as a member of the Red Horse Civil Engineers. He was initially stationed in San Antonio, TX, attended Technical School in Amarillo, TX and after serving a term in Vietnam, he returned to Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX to complete his military career.

Harold or “Harley” as his friends knew him, loved motorcycles and was a skilled craftsman.

He was born in McMinnville, TN to his parents, the late Harold Buford Spears, Sr. and Sammie Christine Bryan Spears.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Morgan Spears of Hillsboro, TN; son, Jon M. Spears and his wife Cheri of Manchester, TN; granddaughter, Morgen Elizabeth Spears of Manchester, TN; sister, JoAnn Goodman of Nolensville, TN; nephew, Gregory & Alethea Goodman of Nolensville, TN; niece, Donna & Scott Merritt of Hermitage, TN; and one great-niece and five great-nephews. He is also survived by his loving wife’s family, mother-in-law, Katherine Morgan; sister-in-law, Donna & Phil Fletcher; sister-in-law, Charlotte & Jimmy Bush; brother-in-law Revice & Pam Morgan; brother-in-law, Thomas Morgan; six nephews; one niece; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; and many beloved cousins, other relatives and friends.

He will also be missed by his and Morgen’s dog, Lollipop. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Ray E. Marcrom officiating.

Burial will follow at the Prairie Plains Church of Christ Cemetery in Hillsboro with United States Air Force Military Honors.
