Yates, James Otis, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday,
December 31, 2018 at Life Care Center at the age of 88. Mr. Yates was
born in Tullahoma to the late Chester and Maude Kimbrough Yates. During
his life he worked as a heavy equipment operator for several different
companies, most recently being at Coffee County Waste Management. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his wife,
Mary Helen Yates; his son, Jimmy Yates; his daughter, Clara Lane Yates;
one granddaughter, Chasity Yates; and his brother, John Thomas Yates. He
is survived by his grandchildren, Derek Yates (Stacey) and Lindsay Bogle
(JT); and great grandchildren, Brandon Guess, Cloye Yates and Kylie Leann
Bogle. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 at Kilgore
Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday,
January 3rd, 2019 at 2:30pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.
Charles Guinn officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. For
those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee
38105.
