galigherOn May 2, 2016 Virginia Ayre Galigher passed away after a lengthy illness at LifeCare Nursing Facility in Tullahoma, TN. Mrs. Galigher was born September 2nd in Champaign, IL in 1937, where she graduated from Champaign High School in 1955. Mrs. Galigher has been a resident of Tullahoma for 57 years. She moved to Tullahoma in 1959 when her former husband, Lawrence Galigher began working at Arnold Engineering Development Center. She enjoyed doll collecting, crafting, playing marbles and watching classic movies. Spending time with her family and friends was always a top priority. She defied the odds numerous times being given only days to live but with God’s grace her family and friends were allowed to make miraculous memories with her in her last weeks. One of her great joys was being a member of Highland Baptist Church. Virginia truly was a sweet soul that always had a smile to give away. She was beloved by all and will be deeply missed. Laughter through tears is wondrous and has been one of Virginia’s and her family’s favorite emotion.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frederick C. and Ruth (Bensyl) Ayre and a Brother Stanley Ayre. She survived by many loving relatives, Son Mike (Judy) Galigher of Tullahoma and Daughter Carrie (Glenn) Newton of Tullahoma; Grandchildren (6) Ashley Galigher of Tullahoma, Joshua (Sarah) Galigher, Jeremy Galigher, Hilary Galigher all of Niceville, FL,
Spenser Newton and Andrew Newton of Tullahoma and Great Granddaughters (2) Harper and Blakely.
