Yesterday was Veteran’s Day and it was celebrated in grand style on the court house square in Manchester. A crowd estimated at over 500 people attended the annual ceremony. The event is coordinated between Sgt Tim Brown and the local American Legion.
Those receiving a beautiful Commemorative Sword were veterans;
Frank Jacobs, Pete Sain Jr., Buck Hannah, Jimmy Sain, Al Toth, Dean Northcutt, Edna Southerland, Bill Long, Donald Qualls, Steven Hale and Muriel Harris.
Don Kimmons received The Memorial Sword given in honor of fallen soldiers. He will care for the glass enclosed sword for one year.
One of the special moments was when country music hall of famer Naomi Judd made an appearance for 2nd year in a row and gave a very emotional speech.
