Tullahoma Utilities Board To Host Public Power Week Celebration

TUBTullahoma Utilities Board (TUB) will host its annual Public Power Week Celebration on Thursday, October 9th from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. The event is a way for TUB—and the community—to celebrate decades of reliable public power. TUB is one of more than 2,000 other electric utilities that collectively provide electricity on a not-for-profit basis to 45 million Americans.
Public Power Week is a national, annual event that originated 28 years ago. It is sponsored in conjunction with the American Public Power Association (APPA) in Washington, D.C. APPA is the service organization for community and state-owned electric utilities.
The event will take place at TUB grounds and will host a wide variety of events including bucket truck rides, pizza, ice cream, memorial utility pole climbs, a prize wheel with cash giveaways, a bounce house, games for small children, and much more! What’s even better is that the entire event is FREE to the community!
TUB was created in 1947. Today, it has approximately 80 employees, serves approximately 10,500 utility customers, and has two substations that receive power directly from Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
