The Manchester Police Department & Coffee County Sheriff Department will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint on Saturday, Sept. 20th, 2014 in selective locations on Hwy. 55 & Hwy. 41 in Manchester, TN. The general hours of the checkpoint will be between 8 P.M. and 1 A.M. (not to exceed 2 hours). This special enforcement is designed to make our roadways safer.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to raise the level of public awareness and inform citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers. Through implementation of these events, the Manchester Police Department strives to reduce traffic related deaths, injuries, and property damage due to impaired driving.
Normal traffic flow in the area will not be severely interrupted, and delays will be minimal. The patience, cooperation, and understanding of all motorists will help make the highways safer for all drivers and passengers.
