Thomas "TJ" Greenwood in court Friday... By Barry West

The sentencing of the man convicted of the murder of a 2-year-old Tullahoma boy was delayed Friday in Coffee County Circuit Court. Thomas “TJ” Greenwood, 22, was convicted of first-degree murder Thursday by jury of seven women and five men of the March 9, 2010 murder of Hayden Gage West. Greenwood was babysitting the child the day of the death. Defense attorney Roger Bean informed Coffee County Circuit Court Judge Craig Johnson that one his “very important witnesses had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance after becoming ill.” He then asked the judge for the sentencing hearing to be delayed. The judge set the sentencing hearing for April 5 at 9 a.m. Greenwood is facing either a sentence of life in prison without parole or life which would mean he would be eligible for parole after serving 51 years in prison.
