Consumers are receiving SMS texts and automated telephone calls that claim to be from their cell phone carrier encouraging them to go to the carrier website www.myatt900.com
text message reads: Access Your AT&T Wireless, U-verse, Internet or Home Phone Accounts and claim $350 Rate Plan Usage discount, Upgrade Features and Services, pay your bill www.myatt900.com DON’T FALL FOR IT…………THIS IS A PHISHING ATTACK RESULTING IN ACCOUNT TAKEOVERS The phishing site is a fraudulent look alike site requesting the victim’s log-in credentials and the last four digits of their Social Security number. Once account information is provided, the scammer will access the customer’s account, makes changes to the account, place orders for mobile phones and use the customer’s information in other internet crimes and ID theft. Other fraudulent web sites may contain words such as, MyBonus, ILove, ILike, Reward, Promo, or similar words, along with a telephone company’s name. If you have fallen victim to this scam, immediately notify your telecommunication carrier and file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
