On October 4, 2017, Leon Holmes, Jr. was reportedly involved in a domestic disturbance on Kefauver Street in Manchester, TN. He was in court this week for a jury trial.
The arrest warrant stated that the man attacked a female by allegedly strangling her with the intent to kill her and her unborn child.
Manchester Police charged Holmes with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and domestic assault.
On Thursday (January 24, 2019) a jury found Holmes not guilty of the attempted first-degree murder charges but did find him guilty of aggravated assault and domestic assault.
Coffee County district attorneys prosecuted the case and Holmes was defended by the law office of Eric Burch and William Lockhart.
A sentencing date will be set in court on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
