County unemployment rates for September show the rates decreased in 21 counties, increased in 46 and remained the same in 28 counties.
Coffee County went from 4.9 in August to 5.2 percent in September.
Grundy County rose from 6.6 to 6.7. Cannon County went from 4.9 to 5.1 percent. Bedford and Franklin counties had their unemployment rate stay the same at 5.3 and 5.7 respectively. Moore County saw its rate fall from 4.2 to 4% and Warren County’s unemployment rate for September was 4.9 percent, a slight increase from the August rate of 4.8 percent.
Williamson County had the state’s lowest unemployment rate at 3.7 percent, while Hancock County had the highest at 8.4 percent.
