A Colorado man was arrested Monday July 13 by the Tennessee Highway Patrol on drug and other charges.
Jon B. Spencer, 21, of Avon Colorado was charged with manufacture/deliver/sell of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on revoked/suspended license and released after posting a $13,000 bond.
According to warrants obtained by Trooper Donnie Clark, Spencer was stopped on Interstate 24 for a traffic violation. When the officer approached Spencer’s vehicle the man was very nervous and evasive.
Spencer allegedly told the officer that he did not have a driver license or valid identification with him. When the officer ran a check he learned that the man was driving on revoked/suspended license.
In searching the man’s vehicle, the officer allegedly found 19 grams of a green leafy material believed to be marijuana in a backpack. Also found was a grinder to process the marijuana in the backpack and $1,471 in cash.
Spencer is to appear in Coffee County General Sessions Court Aug. 25.
