Young ladies compete for Miss Buttercup... By Barry West
Hickerson Elementary held the first Miss Buttercup pageant on Saturday. The pageant was held as a fund raiser to help the school build a walking track. It was a successful event. Queens included: Baby Miss Buttercup-Daisy Matlock, Toddler Miss Buttercup-Kenley Patton, Wee Miss Buttercup-Kylee Wells, Tiny Miss Buttercup-Hannah Chessor, Little Miss Buttercup-Carleigh Stephens, Pre-Teen Miss Buttercup-Gracie Richardson, Teen Miss Buttercup-Kayla McCormick, Miss Buttercup- Abigail Vaughn. Supreme in the 0-6 years was Lilee Scott and 7-19 Baylee Nester. Hickerson would like to thank all the volunteers, venders and sponsors who helped make this event possible. Hickerson is much closer to the goal of a walking track after this fundraiser. The track will help improve physical activity and help promote a healthy lifestyle for its students and community.
