Authorities issue BOLO for man suspected in multiple car burglaries; considered armed and dangerous
Coffee County and Warren County Sheriff’s Departments have issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a man they say is responsible for multiple car burglaries and thefts in Coffee, Warren and surrounding counties. Jeffery Michael Hodges, (white male, 5’9”, 165 lbs, bald, blue eyes, DOB 3-11-74) is wanted for questioning by police. Police say Hodges is considered to be “armed and dangerous” and at times “under the influence of narcotics.” Hodges allegedly stole multiple firearms from vehicles along with several other items. Manchester VFW breakfast to resume this month
The Manchester, Tennessee Veterans of Foreign Wars All-American Post 10904 is pleased to announce that the VFW Breakfast, a long-time community favorite, is resuming beginning this month from 7 AM – 9:30 AM. Past attendees will attest that it’s well worth the early wake-up. The VFW Breakfast will return safely and confidently on March 27th, and will again serve our community a hearty all-you-can-eat breakfast for only $6.50 per person, although donations above that amount are always welcome. Murfreesboro police still looking for man who pulled gun at Hardees drive thru
Murfreesboro Police Department detectives are still in search of the man who allegedly threatened a Hardee’s employee with a gun in the drive-thru back in November 2020. The unidentified man pulled up at a Hardee’s drive-thru window and requested to speak to a manager about a $10.00 refund. The man became hostile and pointed a handgun at a fast-food worker with his finger on the trigger. Largest community tree-planting event in America to be held in Tennessee on March 20
In what organizers believe is the largest community tree planting event in America, thousands of volunteers have registered to plant more than 50,000 native trees including every county in Tennessee during Tennessee Tree Day, taking place March 20, 2021. The event includes 112 community tree pickup sites and more than 4,000 individual tree-planting locations. The event is organized every year by Tennessee Environmental Council, a non-profit organization based in Nashville, with Tennessee’s Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry playing a vital role in this event. Police release name of victim in Lakewood Park homicide
Coffee County Sheriff’s Department authorities on Wednesday confirmed to Thunder Radio the name of the deceased in an apparent homicide that occurred Tuesday, March 9, 2021. County Commission shoots down quarry resolution; appoints Morse as commissioner, Anthony to clerk
The Coffee County Commission on Tuesday voted 14-6 to appoint Claude Morse as a county commissioner to fill the open seat in District 3, which was vacated when Todd Crockett resigned. Morse will fill that spot until the seat expires, which is August of 2022. Also on Tuesday, the commission voted 15-6 to shoot down a zoning resolution that would have allowed for a rock quarry. Proposed Tullahoma Charter amendment to alter the city’s municipal election cycle
The City of Tullahoma Board of Mayor and Alderman voted in July 2020 to send a resolution to the Tennessee General Assembly requesting amendment of the city charter to alter the City’s municipal election cycle. City officials want to consolidate the city municipal elections with the county general elections to save between $25,000 -$30,000 for each city-only election and to significantly increase voter turnout.
