Woman Heads To Court, Accused Of Selling Drugs On School Grounds

Katrina Kay Smith, 27, of Fairground Heights, Shelbyville was indicted by the Coffee County March term of the Grand Jury for selling drugs in a school zone. Smith, was arrested Thursday May 8 on charges of manufacture/deliver/sell of a controlled substance and being in possession of drugs in a school zone. At last report she was being housed in the Coffee County Jail under a $70,000 bond. Smith is to appear in Coffee County General Sessions Court May 14. Husband and Wife Facing Charges

A Moore County resident is accused of seriously injuring a man found walking along Anthony Lane after large amounts of blood were discovered in the Cedar King Road and L. Fisher Road area late Friday night. Loyd McGough of Shelbyville was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of severe facial injuries after initial treatment at Heritage Medical Center early Saturday. He was released Monday, Det. Sgt. Brian Crews of the Shelbyville Police Department said. John Barclay Holt, 34, of Hilltop Circle, Tullahoma is charged with aggravated assault. Some gas stations in Coffee County dropped regular gas prices this week. In Manchester the low price is now $3.40 and in Tullahoma the low price is $3.39. “Motorists are finally getting that steady break in gas prices that we were anticipating,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA The Auto Club Group. “The discount at the pump is expected to continue, as prices are forecast to be in line with last year’s levels by Memorial Day weekend. Woman Convicted Of Paying To Have Her Husband Killed

A Bedford County woman has been found guilty of plotting to kill her husband in 2012. According to the Shelbyville Times Gazette, a jury on Friday convicted Susan Walls of criminal responsibility to commit first-degree murder and conspiracy in the death of her husband, 55-year-old Larry Walls. Larry Walls was found dead Aug. 8, 2012 inside his Unionville home. A medical examiner said he died from a head injury and 49 stab wounds. Randy Cleek, 51, of Shelbyville, was indicted by the July 2013 term of the grand jury in Moore County. The man was arrested last year and charged with four counts of rape. Jury selection begins Tuesday morning in Lynchburg. Cleek, is charged with rape of a child, aggravated rape and recklessly engaging in sexual contact with the girl.
