Tullahoma High School graduate and 2013-14 Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year Justus Sheffield has been named Grand Marshal of the 58th annual Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade. The event is being sponsored for the second consecutive year by Stan McNabb Automotive Group and is set for Friday, Dec. 5. Sheffield was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the first round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft. Beechgrove Man Charged With Statutory Rape
A 25-year-old Beechgrove man was arrested on Sunday (Oct. 26) on charges of statutory rape following an incident at a Manchester motel. According to a warrant obtained by Investigator Butch Stewart, Andrew James Kemock is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old in the parking lot of the Regency Inn located on Expressway Drive in Manchester. He is also accused of sexually assaulting the girl again in a wooded area behind the motel. Kemock was booked into the Coffee County Jail under a bond of $125,000. Franklin County Man Arrested For Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Arson and More
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office personnel have arrested a Franklin County man wanted in connection with an alleged aggravated arson that occurred last week. A report filed by Franklin County Investigator Nick Watson indicated that John W. Worley (7395 AEDC Rd. Estill Springs, TN.) was wanted for aggravated arson in a case that originated on Mansford Road in Franklin County. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office personnel placed John Worley in custody late Monday afternoon. Gas Prices Fall To a 46 Month Low
Nationwide motorists are paying the cheapest price at the pump since 2010. The average price of gas has now fallen below the $3 mark in seventeen states. Tennesseans are enjoying the second lowest gas prices in the nation. The national average for a gallon of unleaded gasoline is $3.05, down 6 cents over last week. Bike Club Donates Money To Motlow
The Highland Rim Bicycle Club recently held its annual Elk River Valley 100 bicycle ride, and as they have done in recent years, once again donated a portion of the proceeds to the Motlow College Foundation.
