Fire Set Inside Old Coffee County Jail

On Tuesday night just before 7pm Coffee County deputies, Coffee County EMS along with Manchester Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the old Coffee County Jail at 300 Hillsboro Blvd. A fire had apparently been ignited in cell 6. Jail personnel evacuated the inmates to the rear and front of the building. Firemen were able to quickly extinguish the fire. At the request of sheriff department authorities, Tim Morris Director of Transportation for Coffee County schools had two buses brought to the jail to transport inmates to the new county jail at 3176 Hillsboro Highway in Manchester. Bomb Threat Received At Raider Academy

Coffee County School’s central office confirmed Tuesday morning that a bomb threat had been made towards the Red Raider Academy on Hwy 55. Dr Ladonna McFall Director of Coffee County schools said that students were evacuated around 11:15am. Local law enforcement searched the building with dogs. Manchester Police said the threat was received from a phone call to the school. As of 12:20 PM Coffee County Red Raider Academy was given an all clear. The lunch hour on Mother’s Day brought more than packed restaurants. Around 12:45 Sunday afternoon, I-24 had to be shut-down for a couple of hours due to a roll-over and fire of an SUV that was pulling a trailer. Former Coach Bonds Out Of Jail In Franklin County Might Be Revoked In County

Former Coffee County head baseball coach Brad Weir was released from the Franklin County Jail after being charged with domestic violence on Sunday. He was found Sunday afternoon by Hamilton County officials. Weir served 12 hours that are mandated by state law. He was then released on a $5,000 bond. Ryan Sulkowski Named CHS Athletic Director

In a statement issued on Monday, Coffee County CHS principal Dr. Joey Vaughn announced that CHS football coach Ryan Sulkowski has been named athletic director for Coffee County CHS for the 2015-2016 school year. Sulkowski will remain as head football coach and will begin his duties almost immediately. Scalpers Can No Longer Sell Tickets In Manchester– County Officials Looking At Same Resolution

  The City of Manchester recently passed a resolution that will prohibit the resale of entertainment admission tickets or tokens. Now Coffee County commissioners will vote on the same type of resolution. This would put a stop to the reselling of tickets like Bonnaroo or any other events.
