Female Charged After Stabbing In Bedford County
Last week Bedford County deputies responded to Unionville Chapel Hill Road in reference to a disturbance. Before deputies arrived, they were informed a person at the residence had been stabbed. The victim was transported to Heritage Medical Center, and investigators were called to the scene to investigate. Members of the criminal investigations division of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Department took Barbara Davis, 38, of Unionville, into custody for the stabbing. Tennessee Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips has announced the Tennessee preliminary unemployment rate for June was 5.7 percent, one-tenth of one percentage point lower than the May revised rate of 5.8 percent. The U.S. preliminary rate for June was 5.3 percent, two-tenths of one percentage point lower than the prior month. Motlow College Schedules Residual ACT Test 3 Times Before Fall Semester
Motlow College will administer the complete Residual ACT assessment test three times before the beginning of the 2015 fall semester. Applicants under 21 years of age who plan on attending Motlow College should register for the ACT assessment. Scores cannot be transferred to another college or university. All applicants taking the ACT test must have a Motlow admission application on file before taking the test. Manchester Man Convicted of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and More
John Varner, aka “Jake” and “Kitchen”, was in court Thursday facing charges following a February 9, 2013 incident in which he shot another man following a verbal altercation and continued shooting at the victim as he was running away. Varner was on the run for over a year before being captured in Las Vegas in October of 2014. Marines Killed In Chattanooga
Four U.S. marines were killed Thursday by a gunman in Chattanooga. Mayor Andy Berke confirmed the fatalities in a news conference. The lone gunman was also killed. A Chattanooga police officer, identified as Dennis Pedigo was wounded, and is said to be in stable condition.
