Tullahoma Man Arrested After He’s Caught Driving 3rd Time On Revoked License

Tennessee Highway Patrolman Randy Euller stopped a vehicle on Saturday morning on Warren St in Tullahoma. A check of the driver, Timothy Dewayne Brandon discovered that his driver’s license had been revoked, third offense. Brandon, 45 of Helen St Tullahoma was charged with driving on revoked or suspended license and habitual traffic offender.
Brandon was booked in at the Coffee County Jail under a bond of $14,500 and has a court date of December 8, 2015.

Fire Damages Hillsboro Home

fire 10-28 -15 COn Wednesday afternoon Deputy Carey Baldwin responded to a call of a house fire at 465 Ben Lasater Road in Hillsboro. When the deputy arrived and spoke to Mr. Cody R. Foust he advised the deputy that he was outside and noticed smoke coming from the home. Foust said that it looked like it was coming from a bedroom and he called 911. Foust stated that he has been having trouble with the breaker tripping a couple of times over the past month.
According to the deputy’s report, the home suffered extensive smoke damage, but the majority of the fire was contained to the bedroom.
In the report the Hillsboro Fire Department stated that the fire started in the bedroom closet and that it appeared the fire started due to wiring.

Fatal Accident In Manchester Late Friday Night

pedestrain killedAn accident on Friday night in Manchester took the life of a local female.
According Dwight Vandagriff of the Manchester Police Department, the accident took place around 11:35pm and involved a pickup and a pedestrian. Vandargriff says that apparently 44 year-old Angela D Kline of Oakdale St in Manchester was walking across Hwy 55 near Coffee County High School when she was struck by the truck. Kline was pronounced dead at the scene.
Manchester Police, Manchester Fire and Rescue, Coffee County EMS and the Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the accident area as the highway had to be closed for a period of time.

New Task For To Help Rural Communities

Tennessee is creating a new task force to advance economic development in rural Tennessee.
Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd said in a news release the Rural Development Task Force is being created to help rural areas of the state reach the same economic success as urban areas. Goals include recruiting new businesses, increasing educational attainment, supporting rural entrepreneurship, promoting rural tourism and supporting agri-business.
The task force will include members of the state legislature along with leaders from many state agencies and other public and private parties.
Boyd and Gov. Bill Haslam announced the creation of the task force earlier this week saying it will begin meeting next month.

Robin Leigh Russ

Funeral services for Ms. Robin Leigh Russ, age 50, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Barron officiating.

Burial will follow in Hurricane Grove Cemetery.

Visitation with the Russ family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday at the church.

Robin passed away Saturday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in flower 4Nashville, following an extended illness.

Robin was born in Manchester, TN, the daughter of the late Watt Russ and Cherry Mason Russ, who survives.

She was employed in the nursing field for the past 30 years and was currently employed at Unity Medical Center in Manchester. She loved to cook and enjoyed traveling.

In addition to her mother, Robin is also survived by one brother, Mason (Misti) Russ of Manchester; one sister, Shannon (Donnie) Frazier of Manchester; and three nephews, Nathaniel Russ, Cole and Grant Frazier.
