Kaitlyn Davis parked two no-doubters over the fence and Keri Munn allowed no hits over three innings of work as the Coffee County Central Lady Raiders made easy work of Shelbyville Monday night, winning 13-0 on the road.
Davis launched a two-run home run over the left-fiend fence in the first inning and hit a line drive over the center-field fence in the second. These marked Davis’ third and fourth home runs of the season that is just a week old. Coffee County scored in every inning to put the game out of reach early – scoring 2, 4, 3 and 4 runs over the first four-innings respectively.

Munn worked three scoreless and hitless innings in the circle to pick up the win. She struck out 5 Eaglette batters. Emily Schuster worked the final inning in the circle for Coffee County and was able to preserve the shutout, thanks in part to a diving catch by Madison Pruitt in left field to get the third out in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The win improves the Lady Raiders to 7-0 on the year and 2-0 in District 8-AAA play. They will host Tullahoma at 6 p.m. Wednesday. That game will be broadcast live on Thunder Radio.
Two Westwood pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter and the Rockets of Westwood beat Cornersville 6-0 on the road Monday night.

Owen Whitsett knocked in 3 RBIs on the afternoon. Brayden Trail had 2 hits to lead the Rockets the plate.
Coffee County Middle School’s baseball and softball teams both went to North Franklin Monday and left with decisive wins.

Meanwhile, the Raider baseball team easily disposed of North 17-1. Evan Kirby got the win on the mound, allowing just 2 hits and no runs over four innings of work. Caleb Crouch tossed an inning in relief.

Chalie Pierce worked five strong innings on the mound and three Raiders had two hits apiece at the plate to power Coffee County Central to a 7-0 win over visiting Pope John Paul II Friday night at Powers Field.
Pierce was nothing short of dominant on the mound for the Raiders. The sophomore right-hander worked five innings and struck out 9 Knight batters. He walked two and only allowed one hit to pick up the win.
“Charlie has some really good stuff and he showed that for us tonight,” said CHS head coach Davis Martin. “He’s just a sophomore. A lot of upside.”
Braden Brown tossed the final two innings for the Raiders and struck out five batters while walking two.
“Braden, he really likes the role he is in for us. He loves it actually,” explained Martin. “His velocity is up probably 5 or 6 miles an hour and he does a good job out there.”
The Raiders plated four runs in the first and chased starting pitcher Kyler Oathout before he recorded an out. Part of the reason Oathout exited early was a 30-minute light delay after one bank of lights cut off.
The Raiders added one in the fourth and two insurance runs in the sixth to pull away. CHS was also able to take advantage of 7 PJP errors.
Spry led the offensive effort with a double in the left-centerfield gap in the first inning to score Griffin Meeker, who walked. He later drove in another run on a single to right field.
Nolan Jernigan and Carter McKenzie each picked up an RBI on the night.
The Raiders are now 3-0 on the year – having allowed just 7 hits through three games.
“That has been a point of emphasis for us,” said Martin. “Obviously that pace is hard to keep. But we know pitching and defense wins ball games and we are focused on that right now. “
Coffee County will have a home-and-away series with Tullahoma Tuesday and Wednesday.
